RFS: backup2l (updated package - new upstream release) (2nd try)

2009-12-25 Thread Joachim Wiedorn
Dear mentors,

the previous maintainer of backup2l had set the package "orphaned".
The version is very old and with some bugs. There is a new upstream
version available with bugfixes.

I would like to take over maintainance. So I am looking for a sponsor
for the new version 1.5-1 of my package "backup2l".

It builds these binary packages:
backup2l - low-maintenance backup/restore tool

The package appears to be lintian clean.
It is packed in Source format 3.0 (quilt)

The upload would fix these bugs: 290567, 291423, 303462, 303620,
305792, 307759, 337485, 351812, 493319, 497711, 519610, 537593

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/b/backup2l
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/b/backup2l/backup2l_1.5-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Joachim Wiedorn

RFS: ampache (security update)

2009-12-25 Thread teresa
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 3.5.3-1
of my package "ampache".

This new version includes the following security updates
- Added local authtype which uses PHP's PAM module
- Correct potential security issues due to misuse of REQUEST
for write operations rather then POST

It builds these binary packages:
ampache- web-based audio file management system

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/ampache
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/ampache/ampache_3.5.3-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Charlie Smotherman

Thanks. I have now uploaded the correct orig tarball for this release.

Any further feedback on the package will be appreciated.

Dear Joachim,

this is not accurate: the package has been orphaned by the QA team and the
maintainer answered that he is not inactive. He is also the upstream maintainer
and released a new version 12 days ago. He distributes a Debian package on the
SourceForge website.

backup2l (1.5) unstable; urgency=low
  * Add self-test script to each external volume
  * changed FORMAT to truncate fractional parts from time stamps in .list.gz
files (needed for Debian 5.0/Lenny)
  * backup2l.conf: added some comments on how to use SKIPCOND for certain
features
  * fixed false errors with special characters, closes #291423, #305792
  * changed chown invocation ("g:u" instead of "g.u")

I recommend to contact him to see how you can work together. Maybe the main
issue is sponsorship? I do not know if he is aware of the debian-mentors
mailing list.

Have a nice day,

Yes, Sourceforge makes it inordinately difficult to get direct access to
the tarballs.

In brief: the only way ‘uscan’ can reliably get files from Sourceforge
is to not get them via Sourceforge :-) See the man page ‘uscan(1)’ for
specific mention of dealing with tarballs published at Sourceforge.
