Re: PCMCIA Ethernet net install problems
The problem may be with to ToPic pcmcia chipset rather than the driver for the card. I have tried to install sarge on a laptop that was running SuSE 7.3 (Toshiba 2545xcdt) and it failed to load the driver properly due to the special irq routing that Toshiba does. The lastest version of the pcmcia-cs package says that some ToPic chipsets are broke now and that since there are not any available specs then it probably won't be fixed. Good luck. Let me know if you find some configuration that makes your work. Robert -- Robert Goley RDA Systems Inc. http://www.rdasys.com -- Original Message --- From: "Eric D. There is a bug that prevents restoring my resolution that I had set. Also switching from 800x600 to 1024x768 does not work properly now. For the case that your problem should be a gnome problem you will find some bug reports on 'bugzilla.gnome.org'. Kilia -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". 3d sarge 9600
Dear Friends, The 2.6.6 ati driver has no 3d accel for the 9600 card, as far as I can tell or configure it to work. I have indeed googled, and am familiar with the flavio bits, but would prefer a direct approach. Can someone help me? I am happy to recompile the kernel, but I have the feeling something I should compile as modules is compiled in. I had hoped to install the drivers from ati with alien, then a --force install to eliminate the glx conflict, but need an experienced hand to guide me. Also, for the M10, I presume I want to install the driver listed under 9600 in the linux group. Heretofore, my efforts result in the error that the driver can only be compiled for kernels 2.4 and later. Obvisously a header is missing, or something. Idiot proof instructions are appreciated, as things like, "remember to use kernel agpart"(okay this I can do, but you get the idea) are really no much help, as, could I do it, with the amount of stuff on the rage site and the flaviostanchina stuff is a bit too obtuse for me. I used to just force the overwrite and make install in the 2.4 kernel. Why is this suddenly so hard? Thanks and best wishes, Martin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: processor speed
Christoph Löffler: model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1500MHz stepping: 5 cpu MHz : 600.281 ??? when you configure your kernel, compile built-in or module in "CPU Frequency scaling" the option "Intel Enhanced SpeedStep", real new manager of pentiumM (in centrino tecnology)... read help for this option... I think this is your problem... bye :) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
