If you're downloading from inside DFN you can also consider using ftp.de.debian.org for downloading. (I alan> would not be as annoyed if there was an option to "just get alan> me to the damn ISOs". There is not.) I agree. It takes an experienced user to succeed in creating an ISO using the "pseudo-image-kit". That's too big of a barrier for a beginner. Perhaps many people will never try Debian just because of that... You can use: % rsync rsync://rsync.kernel.org/mirrors/debian-cd/ ... to get a "potato" CD. Once the base system is installed, it's fairly easy to move the system forward to "woody" or "sid" as required. Ask if you need any help. Also note that the "debian-cd" archives (http://lists.debian.org/>) may contain messages with links to snapshot CD images. Hey, we're a LUG. They won't mind if we download it across their dorm room 33.6. :-) I can mirror them here or on pdxlinux.org, if anyone would like that. -- mailto: (Karl M. Re: Bootable Woody Sparc CD's??
The CD's are bootable on both Sparc 5's and 20's. :) Thanks for all the work on these. It's too bad they don't have Pine, though :) On Wed, 3 Oct 2001, Santiago Garcia Mantinan wrote: > > It's a Sparc 5 170mhz with 64 megs of RAM running potato.
