 I agree.  It takes an experienced user to succeed in creating an ISO
 using the "pseudo-image-kit".  That's too big of a barrier for a
 beginner.  Perhaps many people will never try Debian just because of
 that...

 You can use:

   % rsync rsync://rsync.kernel.org/mirrors/debian-cd/

 ... to get a "potato" CD.  Once the base system is installed, it's
 fairly easy to move the system forward to "woody" or "sid" as
 required.  Ask if you need any help.

 Also note that the "debian-cd" archives
 (<URL:http://lists.debian.org/>) may contain messages with links to
 snapshot CD images.  Hey, we're a LUG.  They won't mind if we
 download it across their dorm room 33.6.  :-) I can mirror them here
 or on pdxlinux.org, if anyone would like that.
