Latest irrlicht release breaks minetest, and is a known issue upstream
[1] (and a new upstream release is due to come out soon to fix this);
let's block irrlicht from migrating to testing for now.

yes, openscad has been removed from testing due to build failures, and
has only recently been buildable again.

your report has hinted me to the fact that it has not yet moved to
testing again due to [1] not having been marked as closed. (also, this
report is now keeping it from migrating, so i'm closing it to allow the
migration, the package should be available again in testing soon.

thanks for pointing my attention to the issue

yes, openscad has been removed from testing due to build failures, and
has only recently been buildable again.

your report has hinted me to the fact that it has not yet moved to
testing again due to [1] not having been marked as closed. (also, this
report is now keeping it from migrating, so i'm closing it to allow the
migration, the package should be available again in testing soon.

thanks for pointing my attention to the issue

I'm not getting a crash on my box. Are you perhaps using e.g. a
different look&feel than the default?

Bug#798935: Starting dnsmasq deadlock with /etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/squid3

2015-09-14 Thread Patrick Cernko
Package: squid3
Version: 3.4.8-6+deb8u1
Severity: critical

On a system with systemd, dnsmasq and resolvconf installed, the
/etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/squid3 hook prevents dnsmasq from
starting. As far as I can see, the problem is caused by a deadlock of
"systemctl start dnsmasq.service" in conjunction with "systemctl
reload squid3.service". The latter one is finally called by the
/etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/squid3 hook which is invoked by dnsmasq
on startup.

A possible solution might be, to check if systemd is running in the
hook and calling

systemctl --no-block reload squid3.service

directly instead of

invoke-rc.d squid3 reload

Best regards,

Not that I know of. Netbeans 8.1beta is a fresh install (but took the settings
from 8.0.2).

$ cat /etc/java-7-openjdk/swing.properties
# uncomment to set the default look and feel to GTK
#swing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel

$ cat /etc/java-8-openjdk/swing.properties
# uncomment to set the default look and feel to GTK
#swing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel

Maybe there are some private settings regarding L&F ?

If it helps, the crash also shows

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.

Bug#798937: partclone: FTBFS with libreiser4 1.1.0

2015-09-14 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: partclone
Version: 0.2.78-3
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Hi,

partclone can no longer be built against the updated libreiser4, see
https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=partclone&ver=0.2.78-3%2Bb1
for the full logs.

These issues could also be related to the GCC 5 switch.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'sid' to 'experimental'.
It installed fine in 'sid', then the upgrade to 'experimental' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

I strongly disagree with this justification. The package is very
useful for many people, it doesn't work in specific environment
only. I'd say it should be wishlist, wishing one particular feature
(running x86_64 executables on powerpc) to be working, but I'll use
`normal' severity instead.

Unfortunately this is impossible for me, because I don't have powerpc
systems around, and can't run your environment. Maybe it is possible
to reproduce this problem inside qemu powerpc virtual machine (using
qemu-system-ppc), but I don't know anything about powepc, and don't
even know what's needed to install/run a powerpc debian system.

Hence I'm tagging this bugreport with `help' tag. Maybe someone
else will be able to help.

Sorry,

/mjt

Bug#798865: Re: Re: hugin: Stitching fails when project folder path contains umlaut ("ö")

2015-09-14 Thread Ralf Jung
Hi,

sorry I didn't see this mail; it was sent to the bug, but not to me.

It's an old installation, upgraded many times. I was able to pinpoint
the issue to enblend SEGFAULTing on launch, which I fixed by recompiling
it against current unstable. Seems to be caused by the GCC5 transition,
and a duplicate of
.

Kind regards,
Ralf

Bug#798948: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: Bridging in XEN is not working when 32 or more CPU's are used in DomU.

2015-09-14 Thread johnny
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u3
Severity: critical
Tags: patch
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

When uppgrading DomU to Debain Jessie so dose not bridging work anymore in
DomU.
Plus the workaournd is also broken eg. to load the xen_netback with
parameters.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Trying to load the xen_netback with options did not work.
 options xen_netback max_queues=4

An patch to fix paramater options in netback.c is located here:

http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=4c82ac3c37363e8c4ded6a5fe1ec5fa756b34df3

An workaround for now is to reduce the max_queues in dom0.
 echo 4 > /sys/module/xen_netback/parameters/max_queues

An patch to fix bridging issue in xen-netfront.c is located here:

http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=32a844056fd43dda647e1c3c6b9983bdfa04d17d

I'm not quite sure if uploading to unstable wouldn't introduce even more RC
bugs. Don't have the time to find out about that now. I'll likely be able to
allocate more time to it within about one month.

btw: you're welcome to nmu if you're convinced that will fix bugs.

Package: pgtap
Version: 0.90.0-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

pgtap 0.90.0-1 contains files configured for postgresql-9.1, which is no longer
supported on sid. There is no package for pgtap that supports postgresql-9.3.
Attempting to create this extension in postgresql-9.3 with pgtap 0.90.0-1
installed on sid results in:

=> create extension pgtap;
ERROR: could not open extension control file
"/usr/share/postgresql/9.3/extension/pgtap.control": No such file or directory

I also note that pgtap 0.90.0-1 declares no dependencies on postgresql. Perhaps
a naming convention like that used by postgis (e.g. postgresql-9.3-postgis-2.1)
would help ease upgrades and allow explicit dependencies to be included?

I also also note that pgtap is affected by this postgresql-9.3 extension
change, and installation from source requires manual intervention:
http://postgresql.1045698.n5.nabble.com/PostgreSQL-9-3-beta-breaks-some-
extensions-quot-make-install-quot-td5755344.html

I ended up having to manually "/usr/bin/install -c -m 644" several files that
were missed by "make install" from pgtap-0.93.0/sql to the
/usr/share/postgresql/9.3/extension . Might need to patch the makefile.

Kind regards,
Ben.

Package: pgtap
Version: 0.90.0-1
Severity: serious

When rebuilding pgtap, the pgtap--0.90.0.sql goes missing, so the
package becames disfunctional.

Also, a "chmod +x getos.sh" seems necessary, though it doesn't fix the
problem.

The package shouldn't ship /usr/bin/.

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-5/g++-5, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.9/g++-4.9. The
severity of this report may be raised before the stretch release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc5-20150205/adun.app_0.81-6_unstable_gcc5.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 5, either set CC=gcc-5 CXX=g++-5 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t experimental install g++

Common build failures are C11 as the default C mode, new warnings
resulting in build failures with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped
symbols in Debian symbols files. For other C/C++ related build failures
see the porting guide at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-5/porting_to.html

Closes: 723176 729559 784686
Changes:
 pgtap (0.95.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   [ Markus Wanner ]
   * New upstream release 0.95.0. Closes: #723176, #729559, #784686.
   * Change to team maintenance, add myself as an uploader.
   * Allow per-Postgres-major-version packages, add a separate -doc one.
   * Add pgversions to restrict building against PostgreSQL 8.4 and newer
(older versions would require compiling a C extension, which we don't
 support).
   * Update build dependencies, drop dependencies on libpq, add a
dependency on the postgres server package.
   * Add an autopkgtest on installcheck.
   * Adjust watch-file to monitor releases on github.
   * Bump S-V to 3.9.6.
   * Add Vcs-* fields for the new git packaging repository.

Ah, okay, that makes sense then. I'm CCing the long click bug report then.

> I was able to run under gdb but this is all I got (could retry if you
> suggest a group of breakpoints to set):

That doesn't look like an actual crash. /usr/bin/libreoffice and friends
are shell wrappers - maybe gdb was debugging the shell there?

You could try using the method Attaching to the soffice.bin process as
suggested in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/How_to_debug

$ gdb --pid=$(pidof soffice.bin)

Then type 'c' to continue at the gdb prompt, and reproduce the crash on
libreoffice.

Oh, and if you have the bandwidth, please will you install the
libreoffice-dbg package beforehand, so the backtrace is more meaningful.

Thanks for your help
Chris

I'm not seeing any such errors in a delta-syncrepl setup. Can you share
the relevant configs, and possibly the corresponding logs from the
consumer? It might be necessary to capture some logs at a higher debug
level (for example "stats sync trace") to figure out what's going on.

If you downgrade to the previous version of slapd, does the problem go
away?

thanks,
Ryan

If I just uninstalling libreoffice-gtk3, and gnome and libreoffice-gnome

If I uninstalling libreoffice-gtk, the widgets seems bad.

As Said in many different threads [1 bottom of the mail], Upstream doesn't play
in a really fair mode wrt CVEs in the package (it used to, but not for the
current CVE list).

This basically makes the package unsuitable for Stable Releases, since "Upgrade
to a newer release" is not the correct answer, and
cherry-picking patches without upstream support is just impossible/not easily
feasible for such a huge codebase.

I quote a mail from some Vbox upstream developers and Debian folks.

Personal Maintainer opinion:
I do not have anything against Virtualbox neither against Upstream, made by
people competent who helped us a lot, and did a great work in merging
patches (also my patches) and providing such a good tool for us, I love the
package and I would like to see it in Debian, but since people working for
Oracle might risk to get punished for not following the Oracle policy, I think
we are not sure we can continue giving a CVE free package for Stable Releases.

So, while Oracle employees tries to find out an Open Source friendly way to
cooperate with us, I'm opening this bug, to let the community be aware of the
status quo of the package.

I'm aware of the problem. Unfortunately there is an Oracle policy which
forbids us to provide relevant information about security bugs, see
here:

http://www.oracle.com/us/support/assurance/vulnerability-remediation/disclosure/index.html

We are currently trying to find out what's possible to help you but this

will take some more time.

Bug#797165: freeimage: fixing CVE hints

2015-09-14 Thread Scott Howard
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

Hello - Freeimage > 1.5.4 (that is, the current sid version) requires
OpenJPEG 2.1.0, which is not in Debian. I wasted some time trying to
make freeimage 1.7 work with openjpeg 1.5, but it's taking a bit too
much time. At this moment, the best course of action may be to simply
carry the new patches Raphael pointed out rather than updating
freeimage then working to remove openjpeg 2.1 support. Just a hint, if
you're ambitious, please don't let my comment stop you.

Subject: [PATCH] Preprocess file lists generated by rscan_dir() to sort them

The rscan_dir() function traverses a directory with File::Find,
which returns files in readdir() order. This order is nondeterministic
and depends on the file system.

The lists are used, among other things, to find C files to compile
(in process_support_files()) and later to link (in c_link()).
The linking order affects the generated binary, essentially rendering
it nondeterministic and breaking reproducibility.

Please, if you file a bug report with severity "grave", do provide
enough logs and steps to reproduce the bug. Just a subject title does
not help.

Can you please provide your (relevant) apt installation logs ?
For both virtualbox and virtualbox-dkms packages.

Hi,

this is a blocker bug to prevent dose3 4.0-1 from transitioning from
unstable to to testing. There are several problems:

 - dose-builddebcheck changed some command line arguments but:
* there is no NEWS.Debian informing users about this change
* the exit code for wrong command line arguments is wrong (should be
greater or equal to 64) - this requires an upload of extlib 1.7.0
 - the META file shipped by libdose-ocaml-dev omits the new Versioning
module and thus breaks all software build depending on any dose3 module

cheers, josch

Package: libmodule-build-perl

Severity: serious
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Control: affects -1 libdevice-cdio-perl

The libdevice-cdio-perl package fails to build on current sid because
of the libmodule-build-perl change in 0.421400-2 that sorts results of
Module::Build::Base::rscan_dir() [see #797709].

The libdevice-cdio-perl Build.PL contains this:

my $cfiles = $self->rscan_dir('./',qr/\.c$/);

and later it basically looks at the basename of the file and
skips it if one by that name has already been compiled.

Now, the rscan_dir() call finds files like
  ./.pc/07_fix_perl_5.16_ftbfs.patch/perlmmc_wrap.c

and the Module::Build change moves those up on the list so they get
compiled first, spectacularly breaking the build of course. See
  https://reproducible.debian.net/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/libdevice-cdio-perl.html
for the results.

So the libdevice-cdio-perl build relies on ./perlmmc_wrap.c coming before
./.pc/07_fix_perl_5.16_ftbfs.patch/perlmmc_wrap.c in the rscan_dir()
results, and our change breaks that.

It turns out I was wrong with my patch for #797709 in that I assumed
that the order of the File::Find::find() return list is altogether
undeterministic, while it apparently takes care to process regular files
first and only then recurses into subdirectories. This isn't particularly
well (if at all) documented, but the code (or at least the comments; my
eyes bleed already from the actual code) at

https://sources.debian.net/src/perl/5.20.2-6/ext/File-Find/lib/File/Find.pm/#L763
or thereabouts seems to confirm it.

So we need to sort more smartly, and I don't have patch right now.
I suggest to revert the patch and reopen #797709 for the time being.

Bug#798998: gpivtools: FTBFS: dpkg-genchanges dies with 'Error parsing time'

2015-09-14 Thread Niko Tyni
Package: gpivtools
Version: 0.6.0-3.1
Severity: serious
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org

This package fails to build on current sid, because dpkg-genchanges
dies parsing the changelog date for 0.6.0-3, the second newest one,
which reads:

-- Gerber van der Graaf Wed, 17 April
2012 14:19:01 +0100

This is not a legal date format, see policy 4.4. "April" should be "Apr".

Now, dpkg-genchanges could handle the error a bit better than dying with

Error parsing time at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.20/Time/Piece.pm line
469, <$filehandle> line 15.

and it doesn't really need to parse the second newest changelog entry, it
only does that in case it's processing a binNMU. I'll file a separate bug
about those, but the gpivtools changelog should probably still be fixed.

This seems to be related to the transition to python 3.5, lttnganalyses
depends on python3-babeltrace which contains a native extension that
wasn't built against python 3.5.

I'm not sure what's the proper way to fix this.

I'm filing this bug report to track that we don't release stretch
with gtkhtml4.0 since it's deprecated and has none or few reverse

This bug report should keep gtkhtml4.0 out of testing until
we can sort out the situation in unstable and get gtkhtml4.0
fully removed from the archive.

I closed the removal bug for xiphos, #797564, based on the understanding that
it would be updated and ported away from gtkhtml4.0 soon. Based on that, I've
gone ahead and removed gtkhtml4.0 since xiphos was the last blocker.

First off, thank you for organizing these build failures into bugs. This
is great, and makes things much easier for me.

There is a CMake variable to turn off eigen alignment in OpenSurgSim,
and I have pushed a change that turns it off for i386 and powerpc to the
package repository [1]. I also turned on some more unit tests that more
aggressively test Eigen, to make sure we are ok on the other
architectures.

I'll push out a new version of OpenSurgSim soon with these changes.

Thanks, -Paul

define either BOOST_ASIO_SEPARATE_COMPILATION or BOOST_ASIO_DYN_LINK in your

dynamically against libtorrent, define BOOST_ASIO_DYN_LINK otherwise
BOOST_ASIO_SEPARATE_COMPILATION. You can also use pkg-config or boost build, to
