Bug#752782: RFS: kvmcs-server_0.4.0 server part in kvm client server environment
Hi Daniel, Thanks for the quick response. Each program logs its version number and then they differ from the package version. That can also be confusing. Is there something comparable that I can use to solve this. > > Is the software really only useful in Debian? My initial look tells me > no... In which case the package shouldn't be native format I developed the software on debian (wheezy) systems and all package information is in debian sub-directories. I use a repository on the servers to install the packages. Maybe you can give me a hint how to solve this when needed. Bug#599262: usbip: After detach remote usb device the system is unusable
Jonathan, Thanks for the reaction. At that moment (April 2012) I was using the testing distribution. I was developing a kvm client server system with usbip. But since spice is available I stopped trying to use usbip and therefore I don't have any recent experience with usbip. The freeze of the original bug-report is not longer occurring so I think you can close this bug. Bug#686096: unreproducable
I tried to reproduce the bug with debian-wheezy-DI-b2-amd64-netinst.iso in a virtual machine. Both cases were not reproducable. In the actions there is a switching between shell and installer menu and maybe the installer is not aware of the changes made in the shell but i cannot reproduce the error. I think the bug can be closed.
Bug#681227: installation-reports: grub-install tries to install to a nonsense string
Hi, I tried to reproduce the bug in different settings. - A virtual machine installation: grub always writes to /dev/sda - A new lenova laptop booting from dvd: grub writes to /dev/sda - Installation on an external usb disk: grub writes to /dev/sda This is the original disk in the machine, while it was my expectation that grub should write to the MBR of usb disk. Booting from the usb disk is not possible only via /dev/sda. The question is: What is the configuration where grub writes to the MBR of /dev/sdb? Bug#761158: ITP: kvmcs -- kvm in client/server environment
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: willem kuyn * Package name: kvmcs Version : 0.4.5 Upstream Author : Willem Kuyn * URL : http://gitorious.org/kvmcs/kvmcs * License : GPL3+ Programming Lang: Perl Description : kvm in client/server environment KVMCS (Kernel Virtual Machine in Client Server environment) The KVMCS environment is ment for an education environment and is developed for an internet cafe for senior citizens. In this internet cafe they give courses and instructions on different operating systems. A lot of different operating systems had to be available at the same time and the power of the (old) computer systems were not sufficient for that purpose. A client server environment is developed where the processing is done on a server and the displays are situated on (thin) clients. A user can select an operating system by logging in with the operatingsystemname (pe xp) and gets the desktop of this os on his screen. After closing down all changes are deleted. The environment is designed for an arbitrary number of clients and os'es. Limitations are server processing power and network bandwidth. I am the upstream developer and the package is used on 3 locations (3 servers and 14 clients). A package in debian will improve the quality and installation from the standard repositories is much easier. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
