Only to clarify, this package do not contain lucene support, right?

Bug#726991: gnome-settings-daemon in debian 7.2 freeze gnome-shell

2013-10-21 Thread Samuel Wolf
Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 3.4.2+git20121218.7c1322-3+deb7u2
Severity: important

After update to Debian 7.2 I have a lot of gnome-shell
freezes on more than 10 Debian desktops.

I think gnome-settings-daemon is the problem, because I install weeks ago
the two gnome packages before there are released with Debian 7.2:
ii gnome-shell 3.4.2-7+deb7u1
amd64graphical shell for the GNOME desktop
ii gnome-shell-common3.4.2-7+deb7u1
all common files for the GNOME graphical shell

gnome-shell work with 3.4.2-7+deb7u1 before I update to debian 7.2 without a
problem.

If gnome-shell freeze gnome-settings-daemon use 100% cpu.

Bug#717330: wrong date and time in notification mail

2014-01-08 Thread Samuel Wolf
fail2ban 0.8.6-3wheezy2
replace "date -u" by "LC_TIME=C date-u" in sendmail.conf,
sendmail-whois.conf and sendmail-whois-lines.conf solve the problem in my
setup as well.

Will wheezy receive a update for this bug?

Bug#705611: gnome-screensaver: dual-head monitor setup - blue screen after locked screen (not ready for wheezy release?)

2014-01-15 Thread Samuel Wolf
Disable the lock screen, only screensaver and have one blue screen again
after a gnome notification message come up in the background.

I guess forwarding to gnome does not solve the probleme for debian, because
it is fixed in gnome 3.8 anyway.

With other words, debian wheezy and gnome-screensaver is broken with a dual
screen setup.

evince print preview show the pdf [4] correct only the print output is broken.
For testing you can print as well via "cups-pdf".

I never apply a package and rebuild a debian package, need some time

Bug#690164: xserver-xorg-input-evdev: usb headset volume buttons "freezes" gnome-shell

2012-10-10 Thread Samuel Wolf
Package: xserver-xorg-input-evdev
Version: 1:2.7.0-1+b1
Severity: normal

If I use my headset for example to watch a youtube or a sip call and press
volume plus/minus the gnome-shell "freezes". I can still change the windows
with ALT+tab but no longer with the mouse.
The only way to solve the problem would be to kill the application whitch gives
the sound out.

Headset Plantronics C620
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 047f:aa00 Plantronics, Inc.

Using the volume hotkey on the keyboard works without any trouble.

If I press the volume buttons when the headset is _not_ in use, every thing is
o.k.

Bug#690669: gnome-screensaver: dualhead setup / ldap / nvidia-glx / no unlock dialog

2012-10-16 Thread Samuel Wolf
Package: gnome-screensaver
Version: 3.4.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

sometimes there is no unlock dialog if the screen wake up again. One screen is
deep blue and the other one is black with the gnome panel (normaly both are
black with the gnome panel).
On the deep blue screen I can see the mouse cursor and it is possible to move
it, but on the black screen it is invisible.
Press often ESC and "shake" the mouse show up the unlock dialog sometimes. It
look like on the black screen the screensaver still work and does not wake up.

root@wheezy-desktop:~# ps ax | grep screen
 3426 ?Sl 0:01 gnome-screensaver
 5206 ?Sl 0:00 /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver-dialog
--status-message= --enable-switch

I'am not sure, but it look like this only happens after autolocking the screen
(maybe the position of the mouse cursor affects as well).
I have at the moment four affected debian wheezy desktops with nvidia graphic.

Using LDAP and there are some other bugs with invalid user password, but I can
not see the unlock password dailog!

Autolocking and LDAP is not the problem.

It is very often, but not every time, when I press Crtl + Alt + L,
move the mouse, press ESC and move the mouse again.

If it is happen, the only way to show the unlock dialog again is move
the mouse into the black screen and press ESC.

It is not completely reproducible, sorry!

Bug#705611: gnome-screensaver: dual-head monitor setup - blue screen after locked screen (not ready for wheezy release?)

2013-04-17 Thread Samuel Wolf
Package: gnome-screensaver
Version: 3.4.1-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

by default the screen is locked after a short time (gnome-screensaver).

After move the mouse to wake up the screens, you have mostly on blue screen and
with
a little bit of luck on the other screen the password prompt.

I start a bugreport few monts ago with no idea what the problem is, but now I
think we
found the problem in gnome 3.4, unfortunately there was no patch in the gnome
bugreport [1].

Sorry for the new bugreport, but the subject on the old [1] one was bad (can
some one close it?).

As far I understand we need this revert by Debian to have BC.
In this case I will close the bug, because there is no other option.

I create another bug report [1] since there a more gtk applications

But it was drop down to "important" and not release critical [2].

As you write I think it is not a good idea to have a broken landscape
printout with the default DE and Viewer in Debian Jessie.

Bug#771205: libgtk-3-0: Scale bug in gtk which affect a lot gnome applications

2015-02-03 Thread Samuel Wolf
> Scaling margins on printing from Gtk is not a release-critical issue in

Only to clarify, it is impossible to print landscape pdfs in Debian Jessie
with Evince.
It is *not* only a scaling problem, because Evince/gtk scale as soon I
print a landscape document.

That means with the Debian default desktop Gnome and the default pdf viewer

I can reproduce this on minimum two Debian Jessie amd64 today, but
unfortunately not 100%.

* download a PDF via Firefox (which open automatically)
* select bookmark "tmp" which point me to /tmp and edit the file name (do
not save!)
* select a other window, in my case Firefox
* click now direct in the name field of Evince and wait
---> segfault

The time to wait was from 1 second to over 80 seconds.

Do not find the exactly way to reproduce this, but something is wrong here.

* select save a copy in the menu
* select nautilus bookmark "tmp" which point me to /tmp and edit the
file name (do
not save!)
* select a other window, in my case Firefox
* click now direct in the name field of Evince and wait
