Bug#751249: vtk6 is not installable (tcl-vtk conflict)

2014-06-11 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: vtk6
Version: 6.1.0+dfsg-5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

vtk6 is not installable (and thus libvtk6-dev as well). Problem is, that
vtk6 contains a conflict against tcl-vtk because both of them contain
/usr/bin/vtk. Starting with 6.1.0+dfsg-4 libvtk6.1 depends on libxdmf2,
which depends on tcl-vtk. As vtk6 depends on libvtk6.1, it's not
installable. I guess we either have to remove /usr/bin/vtk from the
package or revert the dependency on libxdmf2.

Cheers Jochen

Bug#656115: libvtk5-dev: VTKConfig.cmake sets VTK_USE_QVTK without libvtk5-qt4-dev being installed

2012-01-16 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: libvtk5-dev
Version: 5.8.0-5

Dear Maintainer,

could you add a test to VTKConfig.cmake, such that it only set's
VTK_USE_QVTK when libvtk5-qt4-dev is installed? For example testing the
presence of /usr/lib/libQVTK.so should work. Otherwise every project
using QVTK would have to test it as well.

Thanks,

That doesn't really help I guess. Either you have a QVTKConfig.cmake or
you check if QVTK is installed when you run cmake (which I would prefer).

It clutters the cmake output and I didn't find a way to silent it.

Hi Mathieu,

this bug is still not fixed :(. I've posted a simple example to test it
some time ago here [1], it should print OFF when libvtk5-qt4-dev is not
installed. Could you please test it before closing the bug, next time.

What needs to be done is:
- Remove the static VTK_USE_QVTK flag from the VTKConfig.cmake.
- Add a dynamic check if QVTK is really installed.

Cheers,

Jochen

It should be enough to change this:

To read:

Bug#856794: pylama fix uploaded to delayed/5

2017-05-06 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Hi,

I've had a look at #856794 and it seems like a source only upload will
fix it. I've uploaded on to delayed/5, please write if I should delay it
further or cancel it.

Once it's fixed, I will request an unblock as well.

Cheers Jochen

Changlog entry (no other changes):

pylama (7.3.3-1.1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Source only upload to dependencies (Closes: #856794).

Without it I get:

SDK location not found. Define location with sdk.dir in the
local.properties file or with an ANDROID_HOME environment variable.

when compiling a simple project using gradle.

I tested it using https://gitlab.com/cde/AndroidHelloWorld, as seamlik

I guess you mean `dmsetup --checks remove "$dst"`, at least that's what
I've found in my unstable version of dmsetup (2:1.02.110-2). But the
result is the same, it still hangs.

`dmsetup udevcookies` lists no cookies. Adding `dmsetup
udevcomplete_all` before `dmsetup remove` doesn't help.

I have the version installed coming with dmsetup without modifications.
Packages with installed rules are [1]:

alsa-utils
dmsetup
gnupg
hdparm
ifupdown
udev
util-linux

Bug#819741: libvtk6-dev: No rule to make target libproj.so / cannot find -lvtkproj4

2016-04-01 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: libvtk6-dev
Version: 6.2.0+dfsg1-10
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

with #750184 libvtk6-dev needs a dependency on libproj-dev. But still with it
installed I get an error from cmake that it cant find vtkproj4. As a test case
I used:

http://pointclouds.org/documentation/tutorials/reading_pcd.php

It needs libpcl-dev installed and it works fine with 6.2.0+dfsg1-9+b1.

Bug#757264: openni: Problems compiling source package using Debian sid on amd64

2014-11-19 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: src:openni
Followup-For: Bug #757264

Hi Benedikt,

I guess you have Mono (.Net) installed, otherwise I don't see why it
should build the dll. I never tested the .Net support, so I would
propose you remove those packages for now. Otherwise feel free to send a
patch to make it work.

Cheers Jochen

Bug#767653:

2014-11-23 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Hi Tobi,

* Tobias Frost  [2014-11-23 14:31]:
> can you please check if you committed everything?
> Especially I'm missing changes to d/changelog...

I've just pushed the changelog as well and tested the build.

> Is this a team upload? A NMU? I assume you are on the multimedia team,

I'm part of the Debian Multimedia Maintainers on Alioth and helped
packaging OpenNI but I'm not a DD, so Hans did all the uploads.

> have your patch been discussed there?

I've discussed them with fsateler on #debian-multimedia and he proposed
to ask in #debian-devel to have a look (but no one answered). Otherwise
he was ok with them and would do the upload as well. If you could verify
them as well, that would be great.

> What is the relation to openni when this bug is reported against
> libopenni-sensor-pointclouds0 / libopenni-sensor-primesense0 ?

The files in question (/var/lib/ni/{licenses.xml,modules.xml}) are
deployed by openni, but modified by libopenni-sensor-*. So the fix
needs to be in the openni package.

Cheers Jochen

This seems to be coming from a new Doxygen version and is only needed
for debclean , but I can revert it without problems.

Will do.

That's actually all part of one change, but ended up in two commits, so
git-dch made two lines out of it. Will change the changelog.

> Why are you moving the util-binaries to the libary package? I would find

openni-utils contains sample applications depending on libopenni0.
Leaving niReg/niLicense in there would generate a circular dependency,
as we need them in the libopenni0 postinst. Is there an other option?

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Gazebo is not installable on unstable amd64 at the moment. Please
recompile it on a clean unstable system (i.e. with libsimbody3.5).
libsimbody moved to 3.5 in March already.

Thanks,

Jochen

Dear Maintainer,

starting with 221-1, my computer doesn't power off anymore. Running
swapoff -a or installing 220-7 makes it work again. I have a encrypted
swap partition listed in the /etc/crypttab like this:

swap0 /dev/sda5 /dev/urandom swap

Let me know if you need more information.

Bug#791944: udev: shutdown hangs because of missing swapoff

2015-07-09 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
I've debugged a little more and actually it's not only enough to do a
swapoff -a, but you need also a cryptsetup close /dev/mapper/swap0
(sorry for forgetting it initiallly).
The shutdown hangs in the do_close() of
/lib/cryptsetup/cryptdisks.functions (line 556), where cryptsetup remove
is call. Adding a -v --debug gives:

[..]

The actually URLs would be:

https://github.com/ros/metapackages

But as it's just a metapackage and we adopted the package names to the
Debian policies anyhow, we didn't used it but modelled a native package

Dear Maintainer,

libatspi2.0-dev currently has a dependency against dbus. Is there a
reason for that? I would propose to drop it or move it to recommends.
I have libatspi2.0-dev installed as a dependency from
libwebkitgtk-3.0-dev and compilation works fine without dbus (tested),
so I don't think it's necessary.

Thanks!

As far as I can see this does not apply to the packages in Debian, as
both of them provide and conflict with libopenni-sensor. I've just
tested both ways using aptitude as well. Maybe you had the
libopenni-sensor-primesense0 from a different source, like ROS, or my
PCL PPA on launchpad? I had an old version lying around over there,
which I deleted now.

Bug#815400: transition: ros-ros-comm

2016-02-21 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Hi,

we want to transition librosconsole to link against log4cxx instead of an
internal print version. librosconsole exports these symbols, so other packages
depend on the choice and we can't simply switch it. We went for a Soname bump
because it's Debian internal anyhow, as upstream declined to add one.

The new version of ros-ros-comm is in experimental already.

Ben file:

title = "ros-ros-comm";
is_affected = .depends ~ "librosconsole0d" | .depends ~ "librosconsole1d";
is_good = .depends ~ "librosconsole1d";
is_bad = .depends ~ "librosconsole0d";

We are maintainer of all reverse dependencies and we did test rebuilds already
and have all needed patches prepared. All rdepends are listed here:

Bug#815814: urdfdom: FTBFS on several architectures

2016-02-25 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: src:urdfdom
Followup-For: Bug #815814

Hi,

I've looked into this and the bug is actually in urdfdom-headers-dev. It's
/usr/share/urdfdom_headers/cmake/urdfdom_headers-config-version.cmake installs
arch:all but has a arch dependent check at the bottom:

> # check that the installed version has the same 32/64bit-ness as the one
> which is currently searching:
> if(NOT CMAKE_SIZEOF_VOID_P STREQUAL "8")
> math(EXPR installedBits "8 * 8")
> set(PACKAGE_VERSION "${PACKAGE_VERSION} (${installedBits}bit)")
> set(PACKAGE_VERSION_UNSUITABLE TRUE)
> endif()

which is instantiated from
/usr/share/cmake-3.4/Modules/BasicConfigVersion-AnyNewerVersion.cmake.in (in
cmake-data) through write_basic_package_version_file().

So we can either make all packages using this arch dependent, or fix the cmake
template. Any opinions?

Cheers Jochen

ROS upstream is currently working on ROS2, replacing most of the core

Package: libconsole-bridge0.2v5
Version: 0.3.0-1

Justification: Policy 8.1

Hi Jose,

the new libconsole-bridge0.2v5 package contains a library with a new name,
making all depending packages break due to linker error.

0.3.0-1:
$ dpkg -L libconsole-bridge0.2v5 | grep so\.0

0.2.5-2.1:
$ dpkg -L libconsole-bridge0.2v5 | grep so\.0

According to policy 8.1:
"The run-time shared library must be placed in a package whose name changes
whenever the SONAME of the shared library changes."

Please rename the package to libconsole-bridge0.3. Note that this means a
transition, so please coordinate with the release team.

Bug#771187: primesense-nite-nonfree: Package broken because openni.org is gone

2014-11-27 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: primesense-nite-nonfree
Severity: important

Hi,

primesense-nite-nonfree is trying to download the Nite binaries from
openni.org, which is no longer available [1]. This makes this package
unusable. I've found copies of the .tar.bz2 here:
http://www.mira-project.org/downloads/3rdparty/bin-linux/, but I can't
verify that they are correct. Still it would be great to have Nite in
Debian.

Cheers

Jochen

Bug#771189: primesense-nite-nonfree: Nite needs license key file

2014-11-27 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Package: primesense-nite-nonfree
Severity: important

Hi,

till now Openni serves a /var/lib/ni/licenses.xml with a Nite license¹.
Given that this is only needed for Nite and we got asked in #771053 why
it's included, I would propose to move the license (or rather the niReg
call) into primesense-nite-nonfree. Also, I would like to do this rather
soon, to get a new Openni package into testing. Depending on #771187, I
would propose to either simply drop the licenses.xml or wait for a new
nite package version with conflicts to the openni package.

Cheers

Jochen

¹: As said in #771187, the openni.org website is no longer available,
you can still find the license key here:

Good point, it's actually needed for an other package
(primesense-nite-nonfree) and I've filled a bug to resolve this:
#771189. I guess we need an other package upload to resolve this, should
I fill a new unblock request, once it's done?

Hi release team,

I would like to transition poco to the new ABI version available in

no problems.

Thanks

Bug#872582: lua-cliargs: Add nocheck to lua-busted build dependency

2017-08-18 Thread Jochen Sprickerhof
Source: lua-cliargs
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

In ef6b60ce695c34a7ff7135e5c3b4b96e11fa87f7 you added lua-busted as a
build dependency (for tests), which in turn has a dependency on
lua-cliargs which results in a loop and making it unable to bootstrap
lua-cliargs. I would propose to add behind the lua-busted
dependency in debian/control to break this.

For more information see:

https://wiki.debian.org/BuildProfileSpec

Dear Maintainer,

Could you please tag the upstream version in git so git deborig works?

$ git tag upstream/1.0.3 c0190a20ddc26cbc956c0f80360c6170ecb45775
$ git deborig

Thanks!

Hi,

I've created patches for v4.12 (applies to v4.11 as well) and git
master and send them to the subsystem maintainers. Would be great to see
them included in the Debian kernel as well.

Subject: [PATCH] v4.12: usb: dwc3: core: Setup phy before trying to read from
 it

Commit c499ff71ff2a ("usb: dwc3: core: re-factor init and exit paths")
moved the call to dwc3_phy_setup() from dwc3_probe() to dwc3_core_init()
and after the dwc3_readl() (now in dwc3_core_is_valid). This broke USB
and Ethernet on Odroid XU4, because dwc3_readl() needs dwc3_phy_setup()
to be run before.

Fix this by moving the call to dwc3_phy_setup() before
dwc3_core_is_valid().

This fixes USB and Ethernet on Odroid XU4.

Sorry for being unclear.

For v4.9 the only patch needed is:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?att=1;bug=843448;filename=0001-usb-dwc3-core-setup-phy-before-trying-to-read-from-i.patch;msg=97

For v4.11 and v4.12 the only patch needed is:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?att=1;bug=843448;filename=0001-v4.12-usb-dwc3-core-Setup-phy-before-trying-to-read-.patch;msg=117

For current Linux master you need:

https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9815981/
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?att=2;bug=843448;filename=0001-usb-dwc3-core-Setup-phy-before-trying-to-read-from-i.patch;msg=117

I also forwarded this upstream here:

http://marc.info/?l=linux-usb&m=149945465112440&w=2

Test results welcome.

I think it's an actual problem not only in Ceres:

http://eigen.tuxfamily.narkive.com/fweQWUaX/eigen-and-the-one-definition-rule

At the moment Ceres is not usable in Debian unstable, so as a simple
measure I would propose to do the binnmu.

I'm not sure about a long term solution. I've looked into the
Built-Using field [1]. But we would have to make sure that every package
using Eigen adds this field and I have found nothing about recompiling
every user automatically when a new Eigen version is uploaded.
I assume it would be better to trigger a rebuild of all dependencies
when Eigen is uploaded, but I'm not aware of an automatic mechanism in
Debian to do that. Any ideas?

Cheers Jochen

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but could you please at least add an
appropriate error message?

Thanks!
