Hi Andrew !

Thanks for your report. I have tried to delete several messages on my
Roundcube installation and they end in Trash. Here is how I delete
several messages:
 - I select them (the first one and the last one with shift)
 - I hit the delete icon (the one next to the print icon)

My IMAP server is Dovecot. What is yours?

Thanks.

This is a good suggestion, thanks for making it. The jed-extra package
already suggests several others (like slang-gdbm, slang-curl, slang-sqlite,
slang-expat, slang-wildcard, and a2ps). If nobody from the DJG disagrees, I
will make this change soon.

Otherwise, Alan, you should note that the new ispell.sl in jed-extra 2.4.2
works now with aspell in a transparent way. If you have aspell installed in
your system, then Ispell_Program_Name will be set automatically to "aspell".
Aspell is an excellent replacement for Ispell, it works out of the box with
UTF8 and proposes better alternatives when doing the corrections.

To the DJG: I think that it is appropriate to use in jed-extra:

Suggests: [...], aspell-dictionary | ispell-dictionary

right?

Well, this is not true for the i386 package that got uploaded. It probably
means that the build with svn-buildpackage and the build from the
generated .dsc file have different results.

Which is quite possible since Samuel has removed files in the SVN tree and
we tried to continue using the same upstream orig tarball (from Ubuntu).

The SVN export doesn't export the removed files while the tarball
extraction puts them back in place before the build and they get thus
installed...

Maybe we should switch to become a native Debian package. Or we must
address this by removing again the files in debian/rules.

Samuel, what do you think ?

Cheers,

Sorry for the delay. I'll probably have some time on Monday to think
about how to do this best. Would it work if I took my current file and
delete (in jpilot) most of the entries? (And then restore it from a
backup I copied out of the way before)

You will have to sync jpilot with your Palm. Otherwise the AddressDB.pdb
file will still contain everything and AddressDB.pc3 will contain the
removed entries.

I checked the files in the patch.tar.gz and found some differences in
all the files.

The diffs in control and changelog are to be expected and are no
problem, his version should be ignored.

But could you check the diffs in the po files please, I don't understand
really these po stuff...

Unpack it in a temp dir and make
diff -ur /path/to/svn/tex-common/trunk/debian/po   christian/po
Often there are only comments missing in his version, but AFAIS there
are also some entries removed, which did surprise me.

Thanks a lot

Bug#442090: Conflicting versions of libstdc++?

2007-11-17 Thread Brandon
I just noticed something that looks a little odd. I was investigating
the build logs, shown here (for i386):
http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=luabind;ver=0.7.dfsg-2;arch=i386;stamp=1188343650
Notice the versions of libstdc++ and libstdc++-dev:
libstdc++6-4.1-dev_4.1.2-15 libstdc++6_4.2.1-4

Doesn't that seem odd? Might that cause problems? Perhaps a
binary rebuild of libluabind0 will solve this bug.

I'd bet that it won't happen with 2.3.0 again. The crash on Border

Oh dear - I obviously had a bad typing day! "preinst" and "side

Not at all - LDAP is setup, the user exists in LDAP. I then install
osiris on a box (which has never had osiris on it). adduser sees the
existing user and so does not create the directory.

Bug#444303: Fixed in latest version?

2007-11-17 Thread Brandon
I had this problem too. I was using the engine from
0.0.20061204.dfsg-1, and the data from 0.0.20070819.dfsg-1. Suaerbraten
would crash on load. The first time, I had to reboot my computer. It
stole the screen, keyboard and mouse, and wouldn't give it back. I tried
again today, and didn't have to reboot.

There is a newer engine version in sid. Judging by the version number,
it looks like it matches the data. It works. Window mode not
necessary. Removing textures not necessary. Sauerbraten is buggy, but at
least it doesn't crash anymore.

Can anyone else get it to crash using 0.0.20070819.dfsg-1? I checked
the bug report for powerpc, amd64, x86, and no one reports this bug for
the current version in sid. Perhaps it should be forced to testing.

Why is this bug important, but the one for powerpc is grave, and the
ones for amd64 and intel xorg are normal? Aren't they probably the same
bug?

The problem is in the tmpdir creation:
  tmpdir = os.tmpname();
  is_ok_tmpdir,error_string = lfs.mkdir(tmpdir)
  if is_ok_tmpdir then
 --   needs_cleanup = true;
  else
 print(error_string);
 os.exit(1);
  end

The problem is the following: os.tmpname in luatex CREATES a temporary
file, while the documentation of lua5.1 on the web tells that it only
creates a temporary file.

The problem is that tmpdir exists as file and lfs.mkdir returns an error.

The following patch uses tmpdir (renamed to tmpfile) as tmpfile.

Could be that this is racy and prone to symlink attack, no idea.

Best wishes

Norbert

Hi,

There are lots of discussions about this topic (hard drive clicking)
on lots of forum. I read that 255 is a bad value for "hdparm -B

recommend to use 254 instead...And you can see that the acpi-support
package change his value to 254 yesterday.

Thanks for your work

Hello,

It seems that the default fonts is set to Liberation fonts in the
up-to-date version shipped by Debian Sid, such as Thorndale etc.
Liberation fonts, however, has not been packaged by Debian yet. So,
the current settings might confused users since there are not
Thorndale fonts available in their systems at all.

Thanks.

Bug#451592: no version available in testing/unstable

Package: openoffice.org-gcj

Hi,
there's actually no available version in testing, nor in unstable for this
package.

$ LANG=C apt-cache policy openoffice.org-gcj

  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 1:2.3.0~oog680m2-1
  Version table:

Also http://packages.debian.org/openoffice.org-gcj reports:

etch (libs): 2.0.4.dfsg.2-7etch2
experimental (editors): 1:2.3.0~oog680m2-1

The missing version should probably be 2.2.1-10 (testing) or
1:2.3.0.dfsg- for unstable (i386 has .dfsg-1, amd64 has .dfsg-2)

Kindly,
David

Hi Nelson,

I have just uploaded unoconv which is a text converter based on
OpenOffice. It provides a binary called odt2txt which conflicts with the
one of your package.

Can we rename each of our binary to odt2txt.odt2txt and odt2txt.unoconv
and uses update-alternatives to take over the name odt2txt? We should do
the same for the manual page.

Thanks.

You mean swfdec-mozilla right? Done that on amd64.

Bug#451464: xulrunner: FTBFS: Undefined reference to `XRenderFindStandardFormat'

2007-11-17 Thread peter green

I did some build tests with the following results:

sid's version on sid: fails with this error
sid's version on lenny: success
lenny (with security)'s version on lenny: success
lenny (with security)'s version on sid (with ecj-bootstrap from lenny):
success

On first impression it looks like libXrender is missing from the list of
libraries in the link command.

re-running the command manually with -lXrender added seemed to succeed
but I have no idea how to integrate this into the build system.

Bug#451596: libcairo: typo in cross build support

2007-11-17 Thread Neil Williams
Package: libcairo
Version: 1.4.10-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

There is a typo in the cross build support in debian/rules that prevents
crossbuilding of libcairo, the --build option is passed the value for
DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE and the --host option is passed the value for
DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE.

The following patch simply reverses the variables so that the cross
build gets the correct values. (Current results - for an example cross
build on amd64 to build an arm package - are that the cross
compiler tries to build an amd64 object file and then tries to link it
using an arm linker which, predictably, fails.)

Thanks.

Bug#445377: ITP: awesome -- tiling window manager based on dwm

2007-11-17 Thread Stanislav Maslovski
Hello,

I have packaged 2.0-rc1 and uploaded it to mentors.debian.net [1].
Please check!

Some notes:
 - awesome-client did not have a man page, so I added a quick one.
 - I have created an icon, but I think it looks ugly, a better idea (or
   realization) is needed.
 - debian/rules checks the version of gcc to simplify backporting to Etch.

2007-11-17 Thread randhol
Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.4.7-1
Followup-For: Bug #451405

Sylpheed does not segmentation faults if the .sylpheed-2.0/sylpheedrc file
contains the following lines:

summary_col_pos_mark=0
summary_col_pos_unread=1
summary_col_pos_mime=2
summary_col_pos_subject=3
summary_col_pos_from=4
summary_col_pos_date=5
summary_col_pos_size=6
summary_col_pos_number=7

if I change them to my old setup:

summary_col_pos_mark=3
summary_col_pos_unread=4
summary_col_pos_mime=5
summary_col_pos_subject=1
summary_col_pos_from=2
summary_col_pos_date=6
summary_col_pos_size=7
summary_col_pos_number=0

then sylpheed segmentation faults.

2007-11-17 Thread Heikki Hokkanen
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.8-1
Followup-For: Bug #449425

Since 0.4.7 I have experienced random segfaults in interactive use.
Sometimes pressing 'f' (Forget new packages) triggers the segfault,
sometimes expanding categories. This typically happens after aptitude
has been used for a while (though once I think it segfaulted right after
update/forget)

Example backtrace on 0.4.8:

Core was generated by `aptitude'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

Note that's quite strange. I would expect that to fail...

I never heard about anyone else encountering this. I'm closing this bug as it's
against an ancient version. Feel free to reopen if you still encounter this.

Bug#451600: libpar-packer-perl: /usr/bin/par.pl vs. policy 10.4

2007-11-17 Thread Niko Tyni
Package: libpar-packer-perl
Version: 0.976-5
Severity: normal

As discussed on debian-perl, the name of /usr/bin/par.pl doesn't
comply with policy 10.4, which says that the .pl suffix should be removed.

Since /usr/bin/par is already taken by the par package, we need something
else. Russ Allberry suggested par-archive, which sounds good to me. Unless
there are objections, I'm going to go forward with that and rename the
script.

Bug#451598: lzma: long term mass bug filing for cross build support

2007-11-17 Thread Neil Williams
Package: lzma
Version: 4.43-9
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

As part of the long term mass bug filing for cross building support,
(http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/11/msg00116.html), I've
prepared this patch for debian/rules.

The cross building support in Debian has been recently rewritten -
particularly in respect of how environment variables and overrides are
handled - so this patch is now needed to allow lzma to correctly
identify the cross compiler.

Please consider implementing this patch. Thanks.

After looking at some docs, it seems that we should not put virtual packages
in the first place of conjunctions. I proposed the following:

 Suggests: [...], aspell-en | aspell-dictionary | iamerican |
ispell-dictionary

What do you think?

Still trying to figure out what the point of this bugreport was :) Would you
like to see have permissions errors logged to syslog or ? That would probably
cause quite some spam in syslog though as apps are figuring out what they can
and can't do.

The only things i can think of is that either the disk was full when dbus was
started (thust causing it to be unable to create the necessary files..) or that
/var/run was read-only. In the first case a more gracefull error would probably
be nice, in the second case it's a user error.

But we definately need more info about this one indeed (especially if it keeps
happening or if it was a onetime thing)

Hi,

nonsense. Why is it grave? Because access to Java stuff is a bit
slower? Because you need to remove it when upgrading from whatever
earlier version? Then do. (for now). Stuff like this is normal when
packages get enabled/disabled during development.

> there's actually ino available version in testing, nor in unstable for this
> package.

Correct (for testing). Because java-gcj-compat-dev/gcj-4.2 was broken at that
time
2.3.1-9 till 2.3.0-4 were done the package was disabled with the 2.2.1-9
upload (because that was a security upload and you of course don't want
it be delayed indefinitely because -gcj can't be bbuilt, right?).

For unstable (at least at he time you wrote this bug) you are
completely wrong, because 2.3.0.dfsg-1 *has* a -gcj and is in sid (as
you even say below)

> The missing version should probably be 2.2.1-10 (testing) or
> 1:2.3.0.dfsg- for unstable (i386 has .dfsg-1, amd64 has .dfsg-2)

2.3.0.dfsg-1 reenables -gcj and that will enter testing when it will.

appear as old bugs in genisoimage have been fixed in mkisofs long time ago.

I cannot reproduce your problem with mkisofs and I recommend you to just
switch to a recent maintained original from:

ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/

the latest versionis currently 2.01.01a36

Bug#244137: Complete story in straw: bug fixed?

2007-11-17 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Hi!

Could you please check if this bug, (which is that clicking on a
"Complete story" link doesn't always start the browser) still holds in
the latest straw in sid (0.27-0.1)?

Thanks.

I second this.

I am not sure it is related, but the shadows around the windows are not
smooth with the new xserver-xorg-video-intel

They look like oblong gradient around the windows.

All right, let us say that this was again my misunderstanding as the very

It looks like the afnix-doc package only contains architecture-independent

I would consider the buildd chroots horribly broken if they didn't have /proc

Bug#451605: ipe: fails to export to eps

2007-11-17 Thread Marcin Bie?ski
Package: ipe
Version: 6.0pre28-4
Severity: important

Ipe 6.0pre28-4 fails to export to eps file correctly, both from the
program menu and by using ipetoipe tool.

I created a test abc.xml file, containing a dot and "A" letter. The
contents are as follows:

 abc.xml file start ---

A

 abc.xml file end ---

Output from the execution of ipetoipe is as follows:

--

The generated abc.eps file is a just white field. The bounding box size is
correct, but there is no dot or "A" letter displayed. Export to pdf works
both from ipe and using ipetoipe tool.

What is interesting the information displayed during export to pdf and
to eps is exactly the same:

[tuptus 13:27:05] ~/temp> ipetoipe -pdf abc.xml abc.pdf > aaa
Document abc.xml has 1 pages (views)
Pdflatex was run sucessfully.
[tuptus 13:27:21] ~/temp> ipetoipe -eps abc.xml abc.eps > bbb
Document abc.xml has 1 pages (views)
Pdflatex was run sucessfully.
[tuptus 13:27:35] ~/temp> diff aaa bbb
[tuptus 13:27:38] ~/temp>

I do not know whether this is expected behavior, but it seems that
ipetoipe calls pdflatex no matter if it is exporting to pdf or to eps.

I tried to make an *.eps out of *.pdf using
gs -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dNOPROMPT -sDEVICE=epswrite -sOutputFile=abc.eps abc.pdf
It yields an eps file containing a dot and "A" letter, but the bounding
box is incorrect (it takes the whole A4 paper).

With best regards,

Yeah, real buildds shouldn't fail as they have /proc mounted, but it's
still a bit of a nuisance. My personal chroots don't have /proc
mounted all the time...

And is now in sid again [1] (although with 0.9.0-05 becase OOo uses this

Bug#451603: krita does not fail gracefully when it fills /tmp

2007-11-17 Thread David Bremner
Package: krita
Version: 1:1.6.3-3
Severity: normal

Today I tried to pull up a 145M png file in krita, and it just hung in
state D. Eventually I noticed /tmp (set to the etch installer default
of about 400M) was full. So I killed krita. Since krita did not clean up
after itself, the system was essentially unusable (many things want to
create files in /tmp). Obviously I need a bigger /tmp, but krita could
have dealt with situation nicer, by e.g. checking for how much space it
needs.

Try this command:
 ldconfig -v /usr/lib/openoffice/program

This should solve the issue. This looks like bug #316030. Anyway, the
bug seems to be in python-uno. Therefore, I reassign it to python-uno

There's no postgresql *requirement*. There's a *Recommends* on it. not a
Depends. You can install the package without a PostgreSQl server. But
it's recommended because if you don't have one on your network (let#say
you want to use this on your one pc) then you need postgresql.

Hm.. we could make it a Auggests but personally I think it would be too
lax then...

Thanks. I am not sure we should try upgrading to 0.9.1 now, though..

I don't know how this happened. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Apparently bug #441696 has reappeared. When I rebuilt aptitude twice
on my system, the .mo files were in the first package but not in the
second.  Reopening #441696,

Bug#451464: xulrunner: FTBFS: Undefined reference to `XRenderFindStandardFormat'

2007-11-17 Thread peter green

re-running the command manually with -lXrender added seemed to succeed but
I have no idea how to integrate this into the build system.

See bug #451431

I tried applying the patch from that bug report (a dpatch version of it
is attatched) but I got the following error when trying to regenerate
configure.

debian:/tmp/dpep-work.Ok8544/xulrunner-1.8.1.9# autoconf
build/autoconf/altoptions.m4:156: error: m4_defn: undefined macro:
_m4_divert_diversion

build/autoconf/altoptions.m4:156: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1

Googling for the error seemed to suggest that to get arround it I needed
to use a pre-sarge version of autoconf which seemed rather impractical.

Bug#451616: gqview: Image cache misses update.

2007-11-17 Thread Greg Kochanski
Package: gqview
Version: 2.0.4-1
Severity: normal

When you change a file within a directory that gqview is looking at,
occasionally gqview will put up a "broken image". Presumably, this
happens when gqview looks at the image while it is still in the process
of being written. This is OK, as far as it goes.

However, sometimes (maybe 10% or 20% of the time that the above happens)
gqview somehow misses
the fact that the write has completed. The "broken image" stays on
the screen, even though the underlying file is correct.
This is a bug.

I see this happening when editing jpeg images with the GIMP, and also
occasionally when rotating images by 90 degrees with jpegtran.

So, presumably, there is some race condition between checking to see
if the image has been modified and reading it in.

Indeed.

And why didn't you directly close it then? Because at the time you
reassigned it it was already fixed (the i386 build was not yet
available, though) - I fixed it directly after I noticed that too and
the version which went out of NEW already had that fixed from the
beginning...

Closing/merging.

No, you only need to install autoconf2.13.

Yeah, well though my chroot usually have start-stop-daemon as a noop...
Anyway just added a check in the dbus init script so it now logs a proper
failure and just exits if /proc isn't mounted.

Bug#451612: gkrellm: Do not show on pager/taskbar options don't work properly

2007-11-17 Thread Tony Houghton
Package: gkrellm
Version: 2.2.10-2
Severity: normal

When I get gkrellm to automatically start with my X session (using
ROX-Session) the "Do not include on a taskbar"/"pager" options usually
get ignored. If I restart it they do get applied if using metacity, but
not if using openbox, which also claims to be EWMH compliant. The only
way to get the options to work with openbox is to get them working with
metacity first then replace metacity with openbox.

I'm guessing at some sort of race condition. FWIW ROX-Session starts the
window manager before other autostart programs.
