You sent us these [2], [3], [4] screenshots using freefonts [8] - which had no rendering problems at all. Currently I am using it [9] in Dapper - no rendering problem. Which version are you using? We used Mukti in the past and also had positive feedback with freefont; if you think using Mukti would be more appropriate we could strip Bengali glyphs from freefont and switch back to Mukti. Indeed, Bengali translations would really need an update as the last one for level 1 is dated from May 4th. Since then (translation was nearly 100%), the stats went down to 95fuzzies and 38 untranslated messages. So, even if the effort is not that huge, it needs some commitment as soon as possible. I am glad to inform that, we have done 100% for Level1 and 2 for Bengali (bn). :-) Also, as said during the meeting, testing is almost as important as completeness. It is done by the following code: LOCPATH=`pwd` LC_ALL=debian/locales/$lastlocale.UTF-8 sort -k 2.1 $outfile > $outfile.tmp && mv $outfile.tmp $outfile In short, country names are sorted according to the given language's locale. Yes, it *does* matter. :) There are only two country names after all ... As I saw in other languages [ie. English, French, German etc] the country names are sorted alphabetically - except Bengali. Actually, either the alphabetical order is correct according to Bengali collation rules and you and other Bengali speakers are the only ones who can tellor it is wrong and the collation order should be fixed. This is one of the most complicated sections, imho, in locale files. The help of a locales specialist would be needed if a fix is needed.
