i change the external abi a little bit and export any symbols. i just
applied the following patch to the versions script (it just move any
internal symbol to GLIBC_PRIVATE). the linked lib crashes like any
reduces version even if it is linked with --whole-archive.

Does mklibs remove the internal symbols since noone links to them?

Could you add the debug output from mklibs please.

Is the user of the computer at 217.144.224.144 displeased with the
debian-boot community? Stimulating unsolicited response emails to the
list is certainly not the most mature way of dealing with this.

For options, suggestions, and general help on mailing lists, try

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

which, btw, is _not_ a help desk either.

No, it's just the latest Windows virus. It's all over the place at the
moment.

Bug #169264: discover: postinst fails if /cdrom mounted [grave]

2003-08-23 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello,

I understand that d-i now uses discover, and that this is therefore a
likely place to find someone who would be able to address bugs in the
package. There is currently a grave bug against discover for failing to
install if /cdrom is mounted. There are comments in the BTS about a
possible solution, but no upload is forthcoming. Does someone here want
to take responsibility for this? Also, the last upload seems to have
been an NMU as well. Are the Progeny folks still interested in this
package to anyone's knowledge, or should discover perhaps be considered
orphaned?

Thanks,

I might be willing to take it up out of neccessity for debix. Someone
who knows the source already might be better suited though.

We were supposed to migrate to discover 2.x, in cooperation with
Progeny. There were several blocking issues from a d-i point of view,
and I don't know what finally happened. Pere?

We are waiting for me to get back to Jeff Licquie with the test
results and more problems to be fixed, and also waiting for Jeff
Licquie to get back to us with fixes to the issues we found in the
previous testing.

I am slowly getting back to work on these issues again, after being
busy all summer, and needing some rest after the summer. :)

My goal is still to move us over to discover2, to avoid the kernel
version issue in the future, but we have less hurry after
discover-data was updated during debcamp to use kernel 2.4 module
names.

(I copy this to Jeff to get his opinion on where we are too)
