[Debconf-team] DebConf11 media Propaganda!
# Nezavisne Novine After my recent interview for Nezavisne Novine (Independent Newspapers) they expressed great interest in being one of the companies that would like to do the media coverage. They are ready to start printing out our ad in the daily newspapers, we just need to make one, now from very start I had two ideas for this one: # 1. There would be a tag cloud on the left, with names of all the cities DebConf was in so far; some of them being more highlighted/bigger while the others would be smaller ones/thinner/whatever. For example New York City, Helsinki, Olso, Edinburgh and so on ... One city would be the thickest one and the largest one and would be coming out of that cloud and that would be "Banja Luka. Below this we would have big DebConf11 logo. While below this we would have logo of Government of Republika Srpska, DIVA, Debian (no particular order unless you think there should be some). # 2. Even though this is not a conference of such character, Government and other are especially pro for this conference as it brings specialist from all over the world. My initial idea for second ad was to just say in some nice font (droid?) "Debian in Banja Luka?" Below it DebConf11 logo and below it the logos I mentioned above. This also remains me that we could have Banners made for websites to use Now when I talked to people from government regarding this idea, they said they would much like it if tag line was something along "Google in Banja Luka?" Why Google, well because to every company it rings an ear, now the question is how much do really have to do with Google? Either way those were my two suggestions, # DebConf11 banners This is another thing we should start thinking about, as some people already expressed interest in putting our banners on their sites/portals/so on. Another interesting gimmick could be the "count downs" until DebConfs. We should prolly make some kind of contents for all the ideas I proposed here, but before that ... thoughts? Yea, but those are only for "be a sponsor", this is plain simple "DebConf11", or count downs XX days until DebConf11 in Banja Luka and so on. @Velimir, that promotional material is great, just edit it for websites to say DebConf11 or DebConf11 Banja Luka and it would be great, also those web counters would be great! :D Also we should try to put ads on most of the local LUG sites, like LUG BiH ( linux.org.ba) and LUGs from Serbia, Croatian etc... -- Nedim Skenderovic phone: + 387·61·821·675 mail: nedim.skendero...@gmail.com web: http://bfo.deviantart.com/ On Fri, Apr 8, 2011 at 1:36 PM, Velimir Iveljic < velimir.li...@foolcontrol.org> wrote: > I like the first idea! > > Also, we have some website promotional material ready here: > http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf11/Artwork > > > Velimir > > On Fri, Apr 8, 2011 at 1:18 PM, Adnan Hodzic > wrote: > > # Nezavisne Novine > > > > After my recent interview for Nezavisne Novine (Independent > > Newspapers) they expressed great interest in being one of the > > companies that would like to do the media coverage. About colors and everyting else, just follow your vision so far it turned out to be great (referring to dc11 website logo) :) Dimension of the ad are going to be up to full page, but we'll use them for other things so making it relatively scalable would be the best option. Again do it however you want as so far your vision turned out to be great. And that's the vision I believe in. *cheers Adnan Sent using Android (Nexus S) On Apr 8, 2011 2:50 PM, "Leandro Gómez" wrote: ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
[Debconf-team] Documentation, reporting and improved communication
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Fellow organizers and contributors, it has come to our attention that communication over the last few weeks has been somewhat lacking. Same questions are asked over and over again and reporting what has or has not been done over the list has become somewhat problematic, since everything seems to be lost in a sea of emails. To better coordinate our efforts, not only within teams, but the whole organization of the conference, local team has proposed to make a category on the wiki: DC11 Documentation, which can be find at: http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/Category:DC11documentation In this category you can see a list of pages assigned to a certain topic. All of these pages should contain only following information: * Already finished - Things that have been done and taken care of * In process of realization - Things a team is working on * Needs to be discussed further - either over the list or irc * Additional material - links to corresponding wiki pages or some other important material The whole point of these pages are to contain small amount, but very concrete data. They should be used as some sort of a report. Each of these pages has a link to a corresponding wiki page with ideas, suggestions, questions, discussions, etc, where they can be discussed and studied further; meaning, only short and concrete sentences to be used here. We only ask that the members of corresponding teams update them regularly, so we know the progress of each team.
