Yes, east-coast is the most beautiful place on the island.

You could visit the taroko national park:
   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUqYreF1ucA

And you could and should attend the course at the hunter school for survive
skills in wild:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBpvbDw1gQQ

And there are a lot of nature hot springs in the wild around the island:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BptaQ6UBd2U

And you may want to hiking on the trails with the survive skills you learnt
from the hunter school:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43dEkW2qvOI&list=PLFHiboGdZSVmpSusr8ZnH7-PE3oF3S1UP

And you may dive in the Lanyu Island (Orchid Island) where has 30-50m
visibility under water:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in031Nj29lg

And there are festivals of Pangach tribals during that time. They are
dancing like a Debian swirl:

And we could meet and drink together with the author of the song of Seediq

Re: Tourism in Taiwan

2018-06-28 Thread Andrew Lee
Hi u,

This happens in the Amis tribal village at Dulan, Taitung on 15-17 July
every year.
Such event is called 'ilisin' which happens at different Amis/Pangach
tribal villages around Taitung and Hualien from beginning of July to late
August.

I can show you around and translate to help you understand more if I have
time. :)

Cheers,

Right. My experience was that there is no air-con in the most of the public
area.
And probably set as 27-28C in conference rooms and meeting rooms.
Recommend to bring your sandals with lightweight clothing.
Cotton won't work so well here as the humidity is high.
You will probably be wet all the time with cotton.

Can we drop 3? I think it's very easy to get that around in supermarket or
other store around the venue.
I would suggest to select two more from the 4 miscellaneous.
I think a dark one like Stout is a must have. And then neither England Pale
Ale, American Blonde Ale are better than Pilisener.

Re: DebConf20 registration is now open (with caveats)

2020-05-22 Thread Andrew Lee
Hello debian folks,

I believe everyone has been in a very complex feeling this year in many
ways. But we should all know that we should fight to the virus, not to the
oran team on yes or no to have DebConf registration or in person at the
moment.

As crisis is turning point. According to everyone's feedback. I also
believe to have the conference in person is not the best option to fight
together to the virus. And I also don't want our DebConf orga team's
efforts to be wasted.

I believe orga team has done their best. We hope we all may work
together to make this year as the first special DebConf ever with
revolutionary arrangement(online, VR/XR...etc) possible.

And I believe the online C&W party would be super special with a lot of
things to share each other. And we might have a day trip to dig into some
source code of free software online.

In this way, Debian may demonstration how we can still make one of the
largest conference in world to be done in such a most fun way as DebConf's
tradition ever during the pandemic.

Let's look at the bright side, and I hope the orga team this year may have
some idea to make it in turn.

Best wishes,

-Andrew

I can volunteer from Taiwan for t-shirts or mask cover instead or whatever
that helps more with an online conference?
Please let me know what you think?

For t-shirts we will still need the registrations to know the sizes and
types.
For mask cover only needs to know the quantity(I assume for adults, we may
also make some extra for kids if needed).

If we want to ensure that arrives before the online conference start. The
decision should be done as soon as possible as the international delivery
takes longer time now.

Best wishes,

Would you mind to add the difference between e-conference visa, conference
visa and tourist visa into the FAQ please. So that people who really need
e-conference visa won’t missed the chance to submit their info to obtain
one in time.

Thanks Clément so much for sharing the Aeropress and Aerspeed grinder.
These equipment transformed our coffee brewing adventures into a
magical compiler process that helps us a lot to make the coffee from
source smoothly. Every sip now feels like a gourmet experience, thanks
for you fantastic sharing.

It makes us quickly run out of Sidamo Ethiopian and Colombian beans.
We've added two new varieties to our collection: Guatemalan and
another batch from Sidamo, Ethiopia, both housed in pristine white
bags.

For those who prefer tea, we've obtained two super fine Taiwanese teas
from Steven Shiau. The beginner's recipe is simple: steep 4g of rolled
tea leaves in 500g of water at 90°C(if you use the red beer cup
provided by our cater). Plus, you can re-steep the leaves multiple
times with hot water at the same temperature to experienced what is
the "super fine" mean. :)

Cheers to our caffeinated adventures!
