Given the 11PM forecast for Nate, it actually may be a blessing that Touché is 
in Pensacola. (for listers who don’t check the NHC for updates two or three 
times a day, like those of us in the southeast and gulf coast, the track for 
Nate keeps moving west, and the consensus seems to be that it will come ashore 
near Nawlens as a Cat1 storm)

Looks like Nate may go back offshore after passing Long Island Sound as a 25kt 
tropical depression about Monday evening.

Looks like TD16 will become a Cat 1 huricane before it makes landfall on the 
Florida Panhandle then heads towards the Chesapeake.  This is getting annoying.

Touche's slip in Mandeville, LA is a fixed pier.  It has been submerged for a 
couple days now from that system that was around northeastern Florida last 
week.  Strong easterly winds for days pushes water into Lake Pontchartrain 
through The Rigolets.  My dock box probably has several inches of water in it.  
I keep everything in tubs so unless the water gets 2 feet or so over the dock, 
everything is OK.  Pain in the butt to go pull everything out, mop it out and 
let it dry.  I usually set up a folding chair and drink a beer or two.

The other issue is the mud on the dock.  If one of the boat owners doesn't get 
down there while the mud is still wet and hose it off, it's a pain in the butt 
to wash the dock boards after the mud dries.

Anyway, Touche' is still in Pensacola on a floating pier.  If I go over to do 
storm prep (remove sails and canvas), I may have to stop by Mandeville and wade 
through the marina to get storm dock lines out of my dock box.  Always fun with 
the snakes, fire ants and gators.  :(

wiling to contribute to a tribute/rememberance of some type; either to his 
family or a public acknowledgment of his contributions to our sailing world; I 
know that I have lived and enjoyed the legacy of his designs for over 30 years; 
I don't know anything about his family or what would be appropriate but open to 
ideas: perhaps a plaque at his yacht club mentioned in the article?

A word of caution on replacement handles.  I purchased lovely stainless 
steel replacement handles for my Edson pedestal (I believe it was also 
marinepartdepot), that are bigger than what came with the boat.  The first 
time I backed out of the slip (20 knot breeze, of course), I pushed the F/R 
handle into forward, and it hit the pedestal guard before engaging.  No 
forward gear.  Fixable, of course, but you want to make sure everything 
works before venturing out.

Re: Stus-List Throttle on C&C 35 Mk I

When I originally bought my C&C35 Mk1, sn 75, I thought it was missing the 
controls for the side mounted (not on pedestal) Morse Controls and tried to 
find some new or used and had no luck in the search. 
Luckily I found the original set of handles for the Morse Control throttle / 
f-rev shifter set up. 
If you have the same set up and are stuck (and not in a rush) I can take mine 
to a friend who owns a small machine shop and get him to make a copy set for 
you. 
The reason I say not in a rush is that I just took the boat out of the water 
last weekend for the season and will not be back to the marina for a couple 
weeks, and it will take a couple more weeks to have copies made. 
Not sure of the cost to do this but I can't imagine it would be more that $100 
or so. 
Just let me know.

Stus-List C&C 30 MK1 Shade

Curious as to whether anybody has a bimini/dodger on a 30 MK1 and if so, how
it is built.  Looking to put one on my boat, but with the low boom and the
main sheet in the middle of the cockpit, not sure how it would be laid out.
