It can be done. You have to match the 450i sync timing to the FSK timing.
It’s either .25 or .5ms...I can never remember.

Re: [AFMUG] Sync 900 MHz PMP100 and PTP450i?

2020-05-15 Thread Carl Peterson
We did it for a long time to colocate our 100 caps with our 450 caps. Our
last 5.7 100 series is gone and I don't think I have the settings recorded
anymore. I know on the 450 we had to push link distance out to 14 miles
(14/75%/2/2). If you use that in the link calc you should be able to find
a pretty close match for the 100 series.

2020-05-15 Thread Kurt Fankhauser
Is this band directly adjacent to the 900mhz ISM band? And if so does that
mean we can apply for a special FCC license with the FCC and then cambium
can make us some "special-firmware" for pmp450-900mhz hardware? I really
could use some more spectrum in that band for the 900mhz AP's that I do
have., 6 more mhz would mean we could run ABAB on sites with 15mhz channel
widths which would be beneficial.

Yeah, and it sounds to me like it's a 3/3mhz TX/RX pair, not actually
6mhz... probably not very useful for fixed wireless internet service.

[AFMUG] WiFi Calling Broken

2020-05-15 Thread Jeremy Grip
Anybody else seeing this? Very recently-over the last several days to a
week, WiFi calling has gotten flaky, and now just won't connect. Absolutely
no network or firewall changes, Mikrotik CCR core routing. appears to be
both AT&T and VZW. iPhones, maybe Android too.

(Thought I'd post this properly as a new thread).

Re: [AFMUG] Erratic Upload signal in cnmaestro

2020-05-15 Thread Ken Hohhof
Can you be a little more specific about the erratic or flapping upload signal?

How many dB is it varying, and does the downlink signal level stay constant
while the uplink signal changes? Usually RF path issues like reflections,
trees, rain, etc. affect both directions. Does the signal variation follow
some pattern, like certain times of day, or certain temperature or weather?
For example, atmospheric multipath problems often occur around sundown after a
sunny day followed by a cool evening with little or no wind.

Also, when you single out cnMaestro, is this because the numbers reported in
cnMaestro don’t agree with what you read directly from the AP and SM, or an
SNMP monitoring system? Or is it just because cnMaestro is the tool you use to
monitor signal levels? I’m not sure if you are saying it seems to be a
cnMaestro problem.

The reason I ask about software version is there is a known issue 16.x.
It’s just a reporting issue not an actual issue and the graphs look exactly
like what you posted.

16.2 is very stable and gets rid of the funky graphs.

[AFMUG] EPMP and that weird ARP Failure

2020-05-15 Thread Nate Burke
We had storms roll through last night, and I had 2EPMP 1000 radios fail
in to the 'I'm going to steal every MAC address on the AP' It's been a
year or so without this failure, so I thought maybe it was fixed in
firmware, but these were radios on new firmware, but they were both
EPMP1000 units. Is this truly a hardware failure where the switch chip
just goes berserk? One one of the SM's I was able to get into it long
enough to upgrade/downgrade the firmware, and it had no effect. As soon
as that SM linked up, every SM on the AP started having massive packet
loss. If you look at the 'network' tab in the AP, in the bridge table,
every MAC Address is pointing to the defective SM's Subscriber Module
MAC. The only way I've found to fix it, is to either call the customer
and have them power the unit down, or if you can get into the SM,
disable the LAN port. Even MAC-TELNET may not work to get to the
problem SM.
