License error
Hi Everyone On the begin and after the installation the license was OK, i connect a tsm fastback for test and that working. We changing the Ip of the server from local address to public address (changing too in the tsm and in the intregrated portal) and after we moving the new tsm near the old (for moving node data faster (better connection) and recently the licences was no OK. I not tring for the moment the reg lic (because before that working license ok) may be i have change someone wrong but i didn't see why. (just change the ip address, and do move data for test). Bad tape question
Hi people, I have a question, i have a bad tape with 5 file on i do an audit fix=yes the audit marked them to damaged and i try a move data after that and the move data failure directly after skipping damaged file. Anybody have a solution to success the move data (or re scratch the tape and the tsm don't ask for damaged file on this tape) I want to export node and i don't want that the export failed because he need the 5 damaged file. Hi everybody and thanks for reply, My copypool was down because we lost one drive, we migrate the data to the tapepool to new tapepool on disk to perform an export node to the new TSM server with new tapedriver (LTO6, current LTO3). So if i do restore volume A00015L3 discarddata=yes The volume was back empty ? and the damaged file was lost and tsm doesn't ask this damaged file instead of the export node want him ? Hi everybody, After lost one drive since 1month, i think the drive 2 seem to be the same path. I try to move data one tape, audit another tape the tape drive loading, unloading, loading, unloading the tape indefinitely. (Just 9tape to move and audit remaining). Hi everybody, I have a question, i want to export the node on my new tsm with new TS3200. I have the old tsm (with lto3) the 2 tape driver was now down before finish move data to disk. I have always 9tape with data but if i do the export the export search data on tape but the tapedriver off the export node failed. (normal...) If i delete vol vol_name discarddata=yes in the 9 tape when i do the export the data can't be read on that tape and the export was successfull ? I'am new in TSM and i don't know what i do (i read i have to do backup stgpool primary_pool new_copy_pool it's ok ?) 2 question : If we have successfully recreate the new copypool (on LTO6) we want to recreate the tapepepool (on the LTO6) with the copypool (on LTO6 to) it's possible ? Rick, That the problem, we have the old tsm 5.5 server (with lto3 tape library) on Windows server 2003 and we export this server to the new tsm server 6.3 (with lto6 tape library) and windows server 2008. Need help TSM 6.3.4
Hi everybody, I try to install TSM 6.3.4 on windows server, i installed this on virtual machine and that works fine no error. Now i do the same manipulation on my futur IBM System x3400 M3 and i have an error during installation ANR2975E : Offline DB backup for database DB Alias failed with sqlcode and sqkrrmc sqkrrmc http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tsminfo/v6/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.itsm.messages.doc%2Fmsgs2424.html Anyone have already has this error ? I installed a 6.1.3.5 version of TSM fastback i configured him with the adress of my tsm server. In the TSM server i add the node corresponding to the computer i create him a pasword.. In the parametre of distant storage i put the tsm ip adress, he ask me password its ok THe problem was when i add a new folder to save he ask me password and when he ty to save he ask me one more the password... It's normal ? Skylar Thompson The MOVE DATA encountered a problem with either the tape, or the drive itself. A couple things to try: * Try marking DRIVE2 as offline (UPD DR DRIVE2 ONL=N), and then running the MOVE DATA again. This will force the operation to use a different drive. If you get the same problem, then it points to a problem with the tape, not the drive. --> The drive 1 are already down. * Try running an audit on the tape (AUDIT VOL A00015L3 F=Y) and watch the activity log for problems --> I try no error during this (maybe after that move data that should be different * If you do have a bad tape, you can use your copy pool to restore it with RESTORE VOLUME. --> 1 drive down and copypool down too You might also check the logs on your library; some of them will give an indication of whether the problem is media- or drive-related. --> Just basic information no precision or else. Hi, i found something on IBM. I add my user with total control (yet in the admin groupe) on the register key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\ADSM Right clic, autorisation, select my user in use and put him the total control. Since i do that i have no popping password. Tape in scratch question
Hi everybody, I have another question, today the database don't backup on a scratch tape because failure to excessive write error. The tape use is still in scratch and i don't want to reuse this tape the tapedriver was not near and i don't do a checkout volume and take this tape so i'am trying to put this tape update volume volume_name access=offsite or unavailable but don't work. Anybody have a solution or a trick to keep this tape in the tapedrive but not authorise to use them. I'am thinkin to checkout the tape and checkin with status=private but i don't know of that can work. Thanks for the reply by advance. I testing the migration between diskpool and tapepool (the data will migrate sucessfully (but data was still on diskpool (0.4%) and too on the tape in tapepool (q content volume_name) I create the copypool pool and in the tapepool integrade the copypool to the pool of copy and write simultany but that don't work (no copy in copypool)) How dows the copypool work ? 2: In my activepool-file i have no data in but the data was presents in the diskpool How the activepool-file work too? Export node bad tape
Hi everybody, I try to export node from old server (5.5 lto3) to new serveur (6.3 lto6) but i have an error with a tape and the export node failed because of that, i have no copypool (because the 5.5 lto3 have one drive since 1month and the second server was new (interest of the export node)). Hi Roger Deschner, thanks for reply That exactly what we try to do export node server1 to server2 but during the export we have an read error on tape and the export node failed. The LTO3 tape driver associated to the tsm server1 5.5 have one drive HS and the new tsm server 6.3 have a tape driver LTO6 associated, that for that we want to export the node to the new server. Hi everybody. I explain my problem, we move the new tsm 6.3 and restart him, after that the library can't be open again (error during move data...) Problem solve with that. Update path for the two drive and that work again. Now i have an other problem the licence can't be validate.
