The dumb thing is: it was working! For a while.
Then I updated the BIOS to the 1/2/2019 7VCN46WW version to see if the
`ivrs_ioapic` parameter was still required for the touch pad issue, and
now the microphone stopped working again! :(

Tried to boot without the `ivrs_ioapic[32]=00:14.0` kernel parameter, and the
