Well, I have been using SDCC for years (leaving PLM51 behind), in a dozen of
successfull projects... without knowing that SDCC does not work!
At the begining of each project, I'm sitting at the computer looking for a
blank text editor and in my mind I have only the target I intend to reach,
having of course a general idea how to accomplish it. Is normal in the middle
of the journey to change strategies and incorporating new ideas. I never was
able to previously write the documentation of a thing that I do not know how
it will be at the end.
I am a self taught partial time 'C' programmer . I learned C programming by
WRITING CODE to make a PC based CNC control for our gantry robots, about 15
years ago. The control system includes some I/O boards with CAN, based on the
Atmel AT89C51CC01, with code produced with SDCC, and all works OK - because the
code was written.
