Nevertheless, it would be a worthwhile effort to document what the software is supposed to do rather than what some may guess it should do. One BIG thing in maintaining software is separating basic flaws, i.e. things the software does that it shouldn't, or doesn't do that it should, from things we'd like it to do because user demands have changed over the years. Without a specification of what it should do, it's really hard to determine what's a "feature" and what's a "creature." If I could find out what it's supposed to do, piece by piece, then I'd be willing to organize it, draw on existing documentation where that's judged (not by me) to be correct, and generate a new set of doc's, perhaps one that's better, perhaps not, but hopefully both better and more complete. Quite frankly, I don't know how it will be determined what the current code set is supposed to do. Only the developers/maintainers know that. However, since SDCC is well over a decade old, it's probably time the doc's were overhauled. I don't like writing doc's any more than anyone else, but I do appreciate the necessity of having good doc's. Therefore, I'm willing to do what I can. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) > Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org > > iEYEARECAAYFAkjBg50ACgkQbtUV+xsoLpoaZgCg92SR2PSajMuiJOkkqnaYOn2J > X+oAoLAJOX2053Pk3XDeBe506nChsfWo > =IKZ7 > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's > challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great > prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the > world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > _______________________________________________ > Sdcc-user mailing list > Sdcc-user@lists.sourceforge.net > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sdcc-user ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Sdcc-user mailing list Sdcc-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sdcc-user
