I want to send a a3a8 challange to the SIM and get the response back.
A3A8 is part of the scheme used both to verify a SIM to the net and to create
A5/1 and A5/2 session keys.

You mean just passing the PIN? Well, I assume I have to do that to be able to
send a a3a8 challange.

I also was unable to compile the cardcomm program due to a missing
winscard.h, and after playing around with the header files I found that was
missing (among other functions) SCardDisconnect(). I thought I downloaded
everything that was needed.

I've looked all over the place (double-checked before sending this mail),
though I'm perfectly capable of not seeing what's right in front of my nose.
:/
