To use Multi 8K cards, you need to get the older version of Xcard (1.0) and Muscle 1.6
(two different tar files).

The 1.1 tar files for Cyberflex Open is only for Open16K cards (which includes both
Xcard and Muscle 1.6 but modified to work with
Open16K cards).

The reason why verify key doesn't work is probably because the verify key APDU command
is different between Multi 8K and Open16K
cards.

If you diff the source files, you'll see that the changes are all over the place and
won't be trivial to support the two cards.
Hopefully, PC/SC stuff will help smooth things over.....
