Aaahhh.... so `/r/` stands for "raw".
Now that makes sense.  Thank you!

I agree it doesn't make sense to make it use the "smart protocol", then.

As for `git://`, it works fine for me (within its limitations, i.e. without
the authentication and encryption of TLS).
