Have you been able to find an answer to your question? I myself am not an hg user so have no idea. But since I see no other responses here I might suggest that you post your question to a mercurial users mailing list. I see a list of hg mailing lists here. https://www.mercurial-scm.org/wiki/MailingLists I think it likely that people on those mailing lists, being specific to mercurial, would have an answer to your question.
