Me and a partner would like to begin work on a free software 3D game engine. So far we have just been planning things out as far as language, libraries, methods, and overall design go. (don't worry, I read through the FAQs - and I know what's expected of a free software project. There are no proprietary dependencies, and GPLv3 will be the license.) I was wondering if we need a prototype in order to register a project, or if we can do that first, then begin developing it.
