Follow-up Comment #10, sr #106304 (project administration): We got a series of '//Not Viagra' spam. The logs show that this was done over ~15mn with ~2msg/min. This means filters like MoinMoin's "surge protection" won't work in such case. "surge protection" may still be good to implement, in combination with reducing the number of allowed links per posts - to compensate, spammers would need to post more independent posts, in which case "surge protection" would kick in.
