That's because I placed it there. I get a 404 error as the server tries to point to gnu-linux-user-groups.html, regardless of which of the two I use. I would prefer gnu-user-groups.html. See my notes in the several entries in CVS.
OK, I reproduced the problem and understood its strangeness. I can't see a malicious redirection in /.htaccess. All we can do now is to ask Paul what is so peculiar about that /gnu/gnu-user-groups.html file on www.gnu.org.
