Claus Färber <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> described the package as follows: License: gpl Other License: Package: KiWi Content Management System System name: kiwi Type: non-GNU Description: KiWi will be a simple, WiKi-like Content Management System. Unlike other CM systems, the focus of KiWi is on simplicity and ease of use: Everyone should be able to enter text using a mix of HTML (limited for security reasons), BBCode and Wiki-code. It is inspired by Contentor (http://contentor.net/), but the implementation will be perl-based and use PostgreSQL as a backend (although later any database supported by DBI should work). Unlike most WiKi applications, KiWi will support a hierarchical organisation of content. KiWi will also hide links to non-existing pages to users that don\\\'t have the permissions to create the article. Uploading of images and attachments (files) are also planned. KiWi will probably use ImageMagick to create thumbnails automatically. KiWi will use HTML::Tidy to produce 100% valid XHTML (if the templates don\\\'t introduce invalid constructs, of course). Support for multiple templates (based on the document path) is planned, too. Of course, full HTTP/1.1 support (cache- and search-engine friendlyness) and support for \\\"nice\\\" URIs (see http://w3.org/Provider/Style/URI) is planned. KiWi will rely on the web server for user authentication, but ACLs to access control to individual functions are planned. There\'s no source code yet; I plan to start coding using the Savannah CVS server. Other Software Required: * perl & modules from CPAN. * Apache (with mod_perl) will be the preferred web server. * PostgreSQL will be the preferred DB backend. * ImageMagick might be used for image handling (and automatic conversion , esp. from compressed GIF to PNG or uncompressed GIF) and thumbnail creation. * gzip Other Comments: _______________________________________________ Savannah-hackers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers
