This did correct the image scan at 1200 dpi for me. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I only installed updated backends, is there a reason to install the updated frontends as well?
Now I just need to get Gutenprint upgraded to 5.2.8 from 5.2.6 so the unit is recognized as a printer as well. Dave
