I have the same problem on the Debian Stable 64 bit. The problem is likely within the script: /bin/bash ../mkinstalldirs -m 775 -g uucp /usr/local/var/lock/sane Usage: mkinstalldirs [-h] [--help] [--version] [-m MODE] DIR ... Both the help info (./mkinstalldit --help) and looking inside the script does not make clear that "-g uucp" is allowed as a parameter. Besides -m only directories are. RegardsOlaf
