Hello Al, Thanks very much for all the testing and help (and that of the other more than 20 people at the time, several others of whom helped with the programming, adding features and fixing my bugs), the driver would never have been completed without it. > What does it mean for a user, who doesn't want to compile the driver? After it is in SANE code, compiling any development version of SANE will give you support, simple as that. > Should the driver for the 9000F be available in the next Ubuntu > distribution Precise Pangolin, which is published in April 2012, but > there are freezes for Precise Pangolin > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PrecisePangolin/ReleaseSchedule ? I can't even answer questions about SANE releases, let alone what distributions are going to do with it! But since you already compiled from source before, that won't change. The main thing of importance will be that you can use the development source as is, without any clash of parallel developments. Regards, Gernot
