Hello, As a followup to our previous conversation about the Epson PX700W:
1. Any problems with the image quality I had before were caused by my scanner being broken; after I got a new one, image quality is fine and SANE works correctly over the network now. 2. Scanning at 2400 DPI from xsane crashes the scanner (9 times out or 10). Lights start blinking and it has to be manually restarted (xsane too). Even if the scanner doesn't crash, I still get an I/O error and nothing is scanned. Attaching log from xsane (I haven't found a way to set dpi from scanimage). Scanning at 1200 and below works fine.
