I don't think we should do that in SANE 1.0. While that works for our internal backends you'd have to do "#ifdef SANE_CAP_AUTO_POLL" in all frontends and backends and/or define it in the code yourself. Doesn't look nice... Also I don't know if frontends don't complaint about unknown SANE_CAP_ capabilities. Bye, Henning
