Hello,
from the dmesg messages, I see that no IRQ is assigned to your parallel
port.
It might be worth passing parameter to the parallel port module in
/etc/modules.conf
to have it used:
options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7 dma=none
Also, running the umax_pp tool with a trace level of 32 (-t 32) will
give
some hints on what modes are detected.
