With the "when extra…" option you can filter out the alerts, that's correct, the entry will still show a down however.
The string should NOT be inbetween quotes Some server softwares don't like to get too many connections that are started/stopped too often. Reducing the number of checks towards that system can help (via the schedule tab you could set it to "1 out of 2" for example) Dirk Bulinckx. From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2008 11:01 AM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] When... extra info field Sometimes (quite often in fact) I get a spurious timeout on various checks - in particular the MySQL check. To prevent alerts from going out when this happens, I think I can use the "when the extra info field..." option on the "When" tab of the alert. Am I correct? In other words, if I set the alert up as I would normally do, and add a "when the extra info field does not contain ERR: didn't stop within the given timeout", an alert would not be generated under those conditions - correct? Should I put quotes around the text to check for? Last question: any idea why I am getting these timeouts on the MySQL check?
