Sometimes (quite often in fact) I get a spurious timeout on various checks - in
particular the MySQL check. To prevent alerts from going out when this happens,
I think I can use the "when the extra info field..." option on the "When" tab
of the alert. Am I correct? In other words, if I set the alert up as I would
normally do, and add a "when the extra info field does not contain ERR: didn't
stop within the given timeout", an alert would not be generated under those
conditions - correct?

Should I put quotes around the text to check for?

Last question: any idea why I am getting these timeouts on the MySQL check?

Cheers,

Ian
