You could use the FileSystem check in the Microsoft Log Parser tool. Just
create a VB script and schedule it to run as often as needed. I have mine check
about 40 or so .bkf files daily for Size, LastAccess, LastWrite and Created
before they are written to tape. It then dumps the report into an xml file that
I check when I get to work in the morning.

Hope I’m not totally way in understanding what you were asking for.

Subject: [SA-list] File Properties System Date Parameter?

Hi all,

I need to check a remote log file is being updated every x minutes (creation
time change). Each day it creates a new file with a name based on system date.
Is there a way to parses this name change via the File Properties app? We would
use this to check if a service has hung.

If not, what suggestions can people make?

Cheers

Barry
