I also have an MBP/15" (mid 2015), El Cap, but Sage 7.0.  I get the same result 
on this machine as on 10.6.

Did you build or install a pre-built Sage?  Anything that looks sketchy in the 
system logs (open the Console app)?  Are you using a notebook or terminal 
interface to sage?

Another thought: start a fresh version of Sage in a Terminal window and see if 
that works.

At this point, I have no idea what could be wrong...
