At the risk of starting a love-fest, I don't think it is unfair to anyone to list you as the author of SAGE: it's your idea, and it is due to your energy and commitment that the system is where it is today. Developers and mathematicians are attracted to the project because of what it is, and it takes nothing from them if you are the "point man" for SAGE. The community will grow on the merits of the software, and the project goals, and developers will get recognition over time because of their work, not because there is a long list of names somewhere (in fact, once the list gets longer than about 7, one's eyes tend to glaze over when looking at it :-}).
