That's odd. I speak about Sage at T^3 and LIMACON all the time! Sent from my android device.

Did someone else propose a similar session, or did they just reject the idea of a Sage session? I gave a session (different topic) at the 2013 NCTM meeting, and two other sessions on which I am either lead or co-speaker were accepted for 2014. Thoughts? Brad J. Bradford Burkman Instructor in Mathematics, Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts XSEDE Campus Champion, Louisiana Scholars' College bburk...@lsmsa.edu Title: Using Sage, a FREE Mathematics Software System, in High School Description of Presentation: Sage is a FREE alternative to Mathematica, Maple, and Matlab. Learn how to use it in high school algebra and calculus classes to graph (2D or 3D), animate, calculate limits numerically, and introduce Python programming. The new single-cell Sage server at aleph.sagemath.org makes use in class and by students easy, on a desktop, tablet, or phone. Objectives of Presentation: The session will expose participants to the capabilities of Sage to help students visualize and calculate. A hands-on session would take several hours and require technical support not available, so the Burst session is most appropriate. Grade Band/Audience: 9 to 12, Higher Education Topic: Technology Focus on Math: We will cover bracket-and-halving and Euler's method, limits, derivatives and areas under a curve, parametric and piecewise graphing, and how to use Sage to help students better understand these topics by making calculation and visualization easy.
