A few months ago I submitted a post which discussed how the "Sage for Newbies" book had evolved into the "Introduction to Programming with MathPiper" book and that "Sage for Newbies" could be updated with this newer material. Now I would like to announce that I recently finished a second book called "Exploring STEM with MathPiper" that is a sequel to "Sage for Newbies/Intro to Programming with MathPiper" and which is available to convert into a Sage book if anyone is interested.
This book takes the fundamental programming skills which were learned in the first book and then uses them to explore various areas in the STEM disciplines. The later parts of the book show how a CAS can interact with GeoGebra and these might be especially interesting to anyone who is thinking about ways to have Sage and GeoGebra work together. The book was tested in two sections of an introduction to programming class I taught last Fall and also in a post-secondary option high school class that was taught at the same time. The students were excited about the topics they were learning and I have never had an introduction to programming class go as well as these did. Anyway, if anyone is interested in looking at the new book for possible conversion into a Sage book, it can be obtained from http://mathpiper.org.
