The announcement also mentions targeted topics, including:

"Rich and intuitive computing experiences for non-tech-savvy users"

Sounds to me like an excellent opportunity to fund some notebook
development, especially some of the requested features for
collaboration, or to make the notebook experience "richer."

A small group has been preparing a proposal to the US National Science
Foundation to support some education-related work with Sage, and a
draft will be posted here very soon. That might be helpful reading
for anyone interested pursuing this.

The announcement also touts the global nature of past awards. Sage
ought to be able to put together a truly global team to pursue
something like this.
