PS: I find the wording "failures on 8.3.beta3 (probably due to meataxe?)" misleading. Neither MeatAxe nor its wrapper in Sage have changed. So, the failure is (probably) due to Sage. The change in Sage broke one of its optional packages and should thus better not be part of an official release, IMHO.
