The last thing on mixing compiler suite is to be proven.
But then I have mixed C/C++ and Fortran from different
vendors before (mainly GNU and IBM).

In the last days where sage-on-gentoo-on-OSX was viable,
I had inbox (at least) compiled with clang using a gfortran compiled
blas and possibly lapack (netlib). Most of the rest was gcc
compiled.
