Secondly, my suggestion is to think, how are You going to "package" Yourself as a remotely working professional. That does not mean that You should leave any fake impressions or hide, what You are, but it does mean that each one of us has a set of properties, like a tiger and a crocodile have, and the _PROPERTIES_ (I hope that I stressed this enough) of a crocodile are strengths when hunting in the water and weaknesses, when hunting on the ground, but at the same time the _PROPERTIES_ of a tiger are reversed: tigers are good at hunting on the ground and crapshot hunters in the water. The same with humans and their psychological PROPERTIES: we all have our fits and mis-fits and the "packaging" part is not hiding our properties that form the weaknesses and strengths, but the "packaging" is an effort to cherry-pick a subset of our properties that form a set of strengths IN SOME NARROW SITUATION So, when looking for clients, I suggest that You look only for clients that are smart enough and need help at that narrow situation, where Your cherry-picked subset of Your properties form a set of strengths. That's hard. I'm still learning it myself, but that's my current strategy. For some reason the various marketing courses did not cover it so concisely, but there's still a good chance that I'm still too dumb to understand the economy and marketing part. However, currently I am convinced that "economy" is not "resource planning", but "economy" is collaboration between people, where there are always 2 sellers and 2 buyers at every transaction and often times, but not always, one of the parties tries to sell money. Yes, "sell money", because most people are not willing to work for some murderous ganster even if in average the ganster paid a suitcase full of drug money per month, not to mention the more innocent job switches. Those few, probably extremely naive and incomplete, ideas that I have about economy, are partly written down at one of my wikis: http://bitrary.softf1.com/index.php?title=Business I guess that economy and money is a bit like weather, everyone has an opinion on it and everyone is able to talk/write about it, but here are a few links to my blog and elsewhere: http://martin.softf1.com/g/yellow_soap_opera_blog/summary-of-the-blue-ocean-strategy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDrMAzCHFUU http://martin.softf1.com/g/n//a2/citations/2009/what-we-shell_wersus_what-we-do_in_Up_in_the_Air_2009_by_Anna_Kendrick_and_George_Timothy_Clooney.webm http://martin.softf1.com/g/n//a2/citations/2014/vimeo_com_36579366_Bret_Victor_Inventing_on_Principle.webm Those, who can read Estonian, might find the following 2 articles interesting: http://martin.softf1.com/g/yellow_soap_opera_blog/selgitus-miks-new-yorki-kesklinn-on-lollidek%C3%BCla http://martin.softf1.com/g/yellow_soap_opera_blog/2015_10-versioon-minu-arusaamast-teemal-mis-asi-on-majandus Thank You for reading my current comment and blog. :-) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "sage-devel" group.
