I'm sure your help would be appreciated at lmona.de. We'll be happy to consider it when it is ready. Prefix is designed to run as an ordinary user on non-gentoo systems. There is no automatted testing, so it does not work. This is not about a nice UI, just being able to build without user interaction. Lmnd aims to fill this gap, among others. But I think we agree that it is not ready yet. The releases shouldn't have anything to do with the git tree.
