Moore's law does mostly take care of this, but unless I am mistaken
only a few times spkgs have been removed from the core of Sage, but
overall the size has steadily been going up. And here the main concern
should be memory footprint and less disc space usage IMHO, i.e. the
Cygwin build suffers from address space issues due to inherent
limitations of the Cygwin environment.

Since I am potentially going to work on this can you point me to some
