Eh, if you want to lighten the mood, when that thread started, I hadn't time to answer the following :
"The opensolaris port isn't dead yet but D.Kirkby is working on it"

which is good, since that was supposed to mean:
"The opensolaris port isn't dead yet since D.Kirkby is working on it"

I ditched that mail draft for two reasons when I came back to it: the point had been made already and I realized my mistake :-P

If a platform has someone working on it and manages to make sage both compile and work reasonably well (hem... the sage port still has a few quirks), then there's little reason to ditch it.
