Yes, this tool is useful for making the jump. We are using it to preserve
our history during the transition. Be aware, however, that it is slow, and
doesn't create very efficient repositories.

We've been using Git style patches for a while already, which means that
they should remain compatible even with a Git repository (using `git am`,
etc).
