As you well know, +1 to this particular change from me (assuming you mean the GUI tools discussed at the Wallace Falls SD), *given* that the switch to Git happens. I would also ask for command-line tools similar to hg_sage.foo - maybe git_sage.foo and friends, or (if the directory structure is flatter) then just gitsage or gsage or something.
