Hi I am trying to ascertain the minimum build requirements on a new Ubuntu (let's say 11.10) install to build sage.
http://www.sagemath.org/doc/installation/source.html does not contain m4. Is it necessary? http://www.sagemath.org/mirror/src/README.txt contains m4.
